Notre Dame pays big bucks to dump Weis
Chicago Tribune ^ | May 20, 2011 | Brian Hamilton

How much did it cost Notre Dame to get rid of Charlie Weis?

Start with $6,638,403. And keep counting until December 2015.

Notre Dame made an initial "termination payment" to Weis of more than $6.6 million and will continue to cut smaller checks to its former football coach for the foreseeable future, according to federal tax documents obtained by the Tribune on Thursday.

Weis' apparent buyout is revealed on the Form 990 Notre Dame must submit to the Internal Revenue Service. It was made available to the Tribune upon request. Weis' total severance pay — which was subject to debate as his tenure drew to a close — won't be fully clear for years, though.

They probably could have used the over $10 million of alumnae donations they lost when they invited the illegal alien abortion pro to give that speech last year. A friend of mine who give over $10 thousand each year to Notre Dame each year stopped giving them even a dime when they put their thumb in the eye of all pro-Life former graduates.

May Notre Dame and the people who invited Obambi suffer as much as the football program at that school.

They offered Charlie an insane contract and smartest thing he did at Notre Dame was to sign it.

A little easier to win when you had that Michigan quarterback at New England, wasn’t it Charlie?? And rather tough when Notre Dame only allows you to recruit players who can read and write!

Just yesterday it was revealed that Jenkins has put a long-time abortion supporter on the Board of Governors of Notre Dame. I guess he wants to be sure he has allies who will back him up.

The guy is both evil and stupid. I guess being evil tends to make you stupid, since it involves a refusal to recognize reality.

That means less money that UF has to pay him.

Those responsible for hiring Weiss should be ... perhaps ... excommunicated.

No different than Spurrier coaching South Carolina, it still hurts to see him on the opposite sideline, especially last year’s game.

Good choice. Hell, they could have hired a recent grad for $100,000 and saved themselves a lot of trouble. You think he would have done worse than Charlie????????????? Doubt it.
