Good Morning America to Botox Mom: We're Canceling That $10K Check!
Today 9:37 AM PDT by Marianne Garvey

Botox Mom might not be cashing in on her bogus story.

A day after coming forward and saying she made up the tale of injecting her 8-year-old daughter with the wrinkle-removing concoction, Sheen Upton is getting stiffed herself—ABC says it won't be paying her the $10,000 the network's Good Morning America forked over to secure her first TV interview as a "photo licensing fee."

Here's where things stand in the sordid saga.

As we reported yesterday, Upton says she was paid $200 by the U.K.'s Sun tabloid to front a story titled "I Give My 8-year-old Daughter Botox." Upton, using the pseudonym Kerry Campbell, quickly got offers to repeat her tale on TV, first on GMA and then on Inside Edition. The GMA interview in particular created a buzzstorm and child services temporarily removed Upton's daughter from her care (she now has supervised custody).

Faced with potentially losing her child, Upton says she decided to come clean this week, offering a signed affidavit to TMZ and documents purporting to show she was given scripted talking points.

I am thinking what is worse: giving your eight year old daughter Botox OR making up a lie in order to go on television for ten grand?! Hmmmm?

Is botox detectable in the blood or skin? It would be interesting to have her daughter tested to see which is the lie: the claim that she botoxed her child or the later denial.

It sounds to me like she made up the lie for a mere $200. The $10,000 to continue the lie just fell in her lap when the networks got interested.

Is it possible to determine whether the girl has had botox treatments or not? She might be lying about lying.

I don’t know if it can be determined or not. I’ve seen people who have had the procedure and you can see the forehead now flat and little to no expression on the face. However, since the child is so little... her forehead would already be flat. I wonder if the woman is backing out of the Botox story since her daughter was taken away. Better be a liar than abusing your kid sort of thing.

Either way, she’s a bleepin’ NUT. She should be monitored by somebody sane - a committee of you and me? - while she gets psychiatric treatment for her pathological attention-seeking behavior.

I must have been confused. I thought I read somewhere that the Mom was rich from her now deceased 83yr old husband.

$200 would be nothing more than a dinner in a nice restaurant. Why would she lie for a tip. Even the $10K, after tax maybe $6.5 - $7K.

Good money, but not ‘life changing’ money. And I’ve seen that little girl. She’s cute just like they all are, but I wouldn’t call her a beauty queen. And I don’t understand why the mother felt it necessary to discuss her daughter’s pubic hair and boob situation with strangers all over the world.

Something is missing in this story. There has to be more to it than these relatively small amounts of money. Maybe the Mom thought it would jumpstart daughter’s career?

Weird..

The real crime here is ABC paying for sensational “news” stories. They are only encouraging other idiots to harm their children in search of even larger checks.

I would love to punk the media for $10,000. Why not?

“I would love to punk the media for $10,000. Why not?”

Just my point of view but I wouldn’t lie just to make a profit. I also wouldn’t “use” my child in order to obtain money. I wouldn’t risk my children for anything and notice how her child was taken away by Social Services. I also wouldn’t “teach” my children that it is okay to lie. Just me.

Thanks for the update ping, Lucy. It’s appreciated.

I sincerely hope it is all made up so that the little girl hasn’t suffered permanent damage from botox injections.

OTOH, she’s certainly suffered in other ways by the pimping of her by “mom” to tabloids. Don’t know which is worse.

Ah. The love of money ...

I have a 215-pound son, and I don’t think even he could hold her down. Have you seen the woman?

ABCDisney News. Don’t they have some Disney summer film or ABC tv special to plug?

I read somewhere else that they have determined that she did not give her daughter botox. The child has also been returned, as long as her sister stays with her until the investigation is closed.
