Homes turned into islands in Mississippi (Add-on to a previous thread w/some new pictures)

This is a add-on to a FR thread with some new photos. Great to see how some homeownwers were able to cope, with one major failure (last photo).

Thats a great idea, I’m sure the EPA or some such agency is highly disappointed.

These are impressive pictures, and I congratulate the home owners. Going forward, if I were to build in the region, I would start with the mound and build on top of one.

The last one tried to protect too much. It would have been better to go up instead of out.

That is my thought too. He was greedy in trying to protect too much. Look at the other homes. They just protected right around their house, and forgot about the rest. The dirt this guy used to make an extra large barrier would have been more than enough to protect his home, if he had done as you said.
