I love gun control. Gun control is hitting exactly what one is aiming at. When the shot is fatal and the victim is a criminal, it just don’t get no better than that. Give the shooter a trophy.

Wow....Unless that lawyer was physically threatened in some way, he’s in a lot of trouble.

Saved the Florida tax payers a few bucks and for that I thank you.

Now I pray for the family in the house. I just hope they make it through this ordeal.

Here is a 2009 article on this lawyer. He had guns in house but some armed thieves jumped him and his wife in their driveway. He must have said “Never again”

http://www.biscaynetimes.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=428:guns-can-change-everything&catid=50:community-news&Itemid=166

This past September 26, a Saturday, the couple met friends for dinner in Fort Lauderdale. Around 12:30 a.m. they arrived home in their rented minivan (one of their cars was being repaired), and Yasmin stepped out to open the garage door.

Seconds later, two young black men stormed up the driveway, shouting at her. With the car windows up, Davis says he didn’t notice the commotion at first, and when he did, he admits wondering if they needed help. But in a split second everything became clear. The two intruders had guns. They cocked their pistols sideways and one man started yelling: “Gimme the bag, ho! F-—ing bitch! Gimme the bag!”

The robber said he had a gun, according to authorities, and someone in the home shot and killed the suspect. Miami-Dade Police Detective Roy Rutland said, "It does appear that he made some threat that he was armed, and it does appear that that was exactly when the person in the home, we don't know if it was the mother or this teenager, shot and killed him. It does appear that he was making threats to harm whoever was in this home who shot him."

The suspect's body fell into the water behind the Davis family's home, but fire rescue personnel retrieved the body. Police divers looked in Biscayne Bay for any clues related to the incident.

Sounds like mom and/or the kid are in the clear.

Based on things, it seems this family either lives in a bad neighborhood, or needs to organize an armed crime watch.

First time they were lucky. Second time they were armed. This is fair warning that they had better do *something*, because even guns can offer only so much protection. The odds were *way* too even if the perp was armed as well. Even is bad.

I’m a Resident of East Miami Shores. In January 6, 2011, our house was burglarized. It happened between the hours of 11:00 am and 3:00 in the afternoon. The robbers got away with $25 to 30,000 worth in jewelry.
Crime is happening in the Shores, it is just not being reported. My little two year old daughter was with me when I walked inside my wrecked home.

More info: according to a former teacher the perp was a “deaf mute.”

Suspect arrested following deadly robbery attempt

http://www.wsvn.com/news/articles/local/22004386817457/

Police responded to that scene on Northeast 92nd Street and North Bayshore Drive where, police said, Munoz was shot dead by the people inside the home after they feared for their lives. Initially, police said the suspect threatened the lives of whoever was home, but a former teacher of the suspect has since stepped forward saying Munoz was a deaf mute who could not speak.

“His speech was unintelligible. You could not understand his speech. He used sign language as his mode of communication, and that he could not have said, ‘I have a gun.’ He could never say those words and be understood,” the teacher said. “It broke my heart, first of all, because I couldn’t imagine this to be the same person I knew. When I think of Reynaldo, I think of a good-hearted, well-liked, hard-working, ambitious student.”
