Joakim Noah is caught using a gay slur, and he somewhat apologizes
Yahoo ^ | May 23, 2011 | Kelly Dwyer

Posted on 05/23/2011 9:23:04 AM PDT by ConservativeStatement

Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah(notes) shouted a homophobic slur at a heckling fan on Sunday night (the video can be seen here), mainly because he decided he was going to act like an unmitigated idiot in that particular situation. There's no way around that level of in-the-moment stupidity. He's since "apologized" (I guess?) for saying, in his words, "something," but does he not really understand that contrition better come a little stronger than that, these days?

"I got caught up," Noah said. "I don't mean no disrespect to anybody."

But if he said FU dirtbag, this would be a non-story?

Noah is a good guy. It’s a shame he’s going to get this sort of attention.

Should have called the “person” a ‘blanking, tea-bagging, islamaphobic, womyn-hating pos’ and everything would have been fine too.

Kobe Bryant did the same thing last month. Called a referee a effing faggot.

Was fined $100,000.

Cursing? OK. Calling others “retards”? OK.

But since the faggots have special victim rights.... There will be extra punishment.

I wonder how much the fine will be for Noah?

True. Joakim is a good guy. But the politically correct gay-police never sleep. I'd like to see just ONE celebrity or sports star say "yeah, I said it, now back off. Do we have free speech or not?"

Hell, there’s no free speech! The ‘civil’ rights movement constructed pc, and you know how little you can say relative to ‘their’ issues.

“F” you isn’t offensive, but “F” you “faggot” IS a big problem for the media.

So much for all of those pro-gay NBA ads that seem run once an hour during the playoffs! Definitely a case of "Do as I say, not as I do".

True. Joakim is a good guy.

I like him too. But don't forget, he almost decided not to go to the White House ceremony for the Gators championship team, because of President Bush.

Further into the piece:

Don't care. Don't care, guy who is actually my favorite player. It was stupid and thoughtless and wrong and that word hurts people.

Really?

What ever happened to their proud mantra “ We are QUEER and we are here!”?
Might I suggest a new Mantra “ You are GAY stay out of my way”!

The only ones who give a rip are the professional grievence mongers of the media.

ESPN was resembling The View last week as they were obsessed with reporting on all the homophobia gripping pro-sports and how we are all supposed to be outraged about it.
They actually tried to paint the NBA exec admiting he’s into dudes as a history defining civil rights moment on par with Rosa Parks. It was a new low for ESPN, but wouldn’t expect anything less from the “24/7 race card” network.

Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah... shouted a homophobic slur at a heckling fan
The only homophobic thing that can be uttered is, "I am afraid of homosexuals". Clearly he doesn't say that.

calling a faggot a faggot is not homophobic....it is the equivalent of calling a spade a spade....

being afraid of faggots is homophobic...(yes they can afflict damage while flailing you with their purses...)

"I’ll wait first for the apology from Perez Hilton to Miss California."

Exactly right! That butt-pirate needs to crawl back into the closet. Of course the drive-by media didn't cover the overwhelming support for Miss California.

I remember that. I would imagine Billy talked to him. As I recall, Noah kind of dressed far more casually than he should have for a visit to the WH.

Youth-—wasted on the young.

I was probably being too harsh on him as I think he’s matured over the years, but he really annoyed me when he played for Florida.
