Ever wonder why it doesn’t happen more in prisons? The simple fact is a scared person who is being attacked is probably not going to into the member of the violent man attacking her/him because he/she fears the retribution that would inevitably follow.

Also interesting comment about his being the only room up there--I didn't realize that and it does mean leaving the door open is more plausible that he would know no one is out there. But still doesn't explain why she didn't bite him after fighting with him.

Fact is this is still a he-said she-said and all the evidence isn’t known yet. Most innocent men are sitting in jail because they made statements to the police. Typically peoples statements hurt them more than they help.
They all work for free on the FR.
They all have checks cummin in to meet expenses.
But spreading your DNA everywhere makes you vulnerable to a false accusation.

I'm going to make a guess here - that you are a man so have never been attacked in such a manner - so don't know the shock that fright can cause, making decisions hard - as to why she didn't bite it off - maybe she wanted to live long enough to get away...as to the open door - this was not a 'hotel' room like most of us are used too - one door in a long hall of doors - this was like a penthouse room - pretty private.
Last and most of all - there is NO WAY for anyone to know what happened unless they were THERE.
He's got quite a background...used to getting his way, already hit on two other women in the hotel - let's not start doing the 'innocent man/guilty women routine.
