California's former first lady Maria Shriver has made it her hallmark to celebrate women as "architects of change" - but the author, activist, journalist and mother of four always offered a more circumspect view of herself as simply "a work in progress."
What comes next for Shriver - personally, professionally and politically - may now be played out on the public stage in the wake of the scandal involving her husband, former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who last week admitted having a child with a housekeeper more than a decade ago while married to Shriver. The couple announced their separation earlier this month.
"She has one of the strongest personal and professional 'brands' out there - and that's something to her eternal credit," said author and business communications expert Ruth Sherman, a former faculty member of the Women's Campaign School at Yale University.
"She kept it going, and she never really allowed herself to be overshadowed by her marriage to Schwarzenegger,"

Her divorce settlement will make her even richer.
She’s a Kennedy and she doesn’t have to worry about how to pay her bills. She doesn’t need a big settlement to pay her bills. She and her liberal causes will be well served. She has all the connections a Kennedy or a celebrity in general could have. She might even find herself a man. Her life is going to be just fine.
Is it just me or does she look more and more a wooden puppet every day.

I think she’s had some work done over the years. Perhaps also magnified by extreme efforts to stay thin. She looks awful.

You may be right. She doesn't look much different to me than when she hooked up with Arnie.
I’m curious. What did she know and WHEN did she know it about Arnold’s love child? Did she stay mum until after he was out of office so she could continue to be the first lady and get all the first lady perks?
You know attend fo the events, get out of speeding tickets, etc...
Now let’s see... the love child is 14, I think it was. So we’re to believe that she didn’t know anything for 14 years; that’s 14 long YEARS! A man as public as Arnold is and nothing gets to her for 14 years.
