Malcontent Caller #1: Walter Explains His Support for Obama
May 24, 2011
BEGIN TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Okay, we have some "malcontents" on the phone, Snerdley tells me. You described them as "malcontents." All right, well, we're gonna start with one. Walter in Edgewater, New Jersey. Great to have you, sir. You're malcontent number one on the EIB Network.
CALLER: Good afternoon, Rush. Yeah, just a quick question: If President Obama if doin' such a bad job, then why are a lot of Republican candidates droppin' out or don't want to run against him? Don't they care about the country?
RUSH: Uh, the two don't necessarily go together: Obama doing a bad job and people dropping out of the Republican race. There are plenty of people still in the Republican race. The two things don't have anything to do with one another.
CALLER: Yeah, but I... (garbled)
RUSH: I'll tell you why, because no matter who drops out of the Republican race, there's still people in it, and no matter who drops out of the Republican Party, Obama is still doing a lousy job.
CALLER: Well, I don't... Well, that depends on who you ask. I think he's doing a fabulous job, and the -- and it's gonna be -- it's gonna be very, very, very hard to beat him. Why --
RUSH: Walter? Walter, I'm genuinely curious now. Tell me what you think constitutes a great job Obama is doing. What is it that he's doing that's great, fabulous? What do you like?
CALLER: That he's not doing a bad job. I've never seen a president yet -- yet -- do a good job at being president of the United States.
RUSH: Well, that's helpful.
CALLER: So I just gauge it as they're not doing a bad job.
RUSH: Interesting. All right, so you've never seen a president do a good job --
CALLER: No.
RUSH: -- but Obama's not doing a bad job?
CALLER: No.
RUSH: That's why --
CALLER: And -- and -- he's black. The reason why, really -- the reason why --
RUSH: He's fabulous because he's not doing a bad job?
CALLER: Yeah.
RUSH: Yeah. Okay. Well, that's helpful. That's really... Yeah.
CALLER: Bush... President Bush wasn't -- he wasn't a bad president, but --
RUSH: Certainly is helpful. Explains a lot of things. Is that the way you vote: There's no president that's ever done a good job, so you're looking for somebody who you don't think will do a bad job?
CALLER: Exactly, and -- and -- and President Obama has something else on the other candidates that were running when he won, for me -- and the fact that he was black, uh, helped a lot.
RUSH: Yeah. Yeah. Gee. Yeah, I knew that. I didn't want to say that, but I knew that. That's probably it. Well, what is it (sigh) that, as a black, Walter, what is it that you like? All the unemployment, black unemployment's like up in the forties, that what you like? You like the collapse of...?
CALLER: That don't concern me 'cause I work. I got a job so I'm not concerned about people that don't have a job.
RUSH: Okay, so I don't care about them. All right, fine. You don't care about anybody else.
CALLER: No.
RUSH: What about the collapse of the housing market that's been brought about? That's something else you like as an Obama supporter?
CALLER: I have a house, and it's paid for, and it's not affecting me, so I have no concern over that as well.
RUSH: Cool. All right, so you couldn't give a rat's rear end about anybody else. What about the high gasoline prices that Obama's brought about, the high price of food? I guess you make enough money that the price of gas and food doesn't matter to you, so that's also part of Obama's success story?
CALLER: Yes, and -- and -- and I'll tell you one thing else. When President Bush was president and the gas prices was $5 -- I remember that like it was yesterday -- it didn't affect me, so I wasn't mad at him for that because I figured it wasn't his fault. When President Bush was president and the gas prices was $4 and $5, I didn't blame that on him.
RUSH: This is why, ladies and gentlemen, if you're new to the program, so many of us are just literally scared to death for the future of the country. We've just... At this point I, your host, have determined that we're dealing with something here that's not salvageable. The value here is entertainment, pure and simple. But in terms of substance here, I think we've about wrung this for as much as it's worth. I want to thank out there, Walter. I was gonna ask him if he gets a discount on gas prices. Get his agent! You know, they say we stage phone calls here and we hire actors. (chuckles) Get this guy a bonus and make sure we get his agent's phone number.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Gene in Tucson. Thanks for calling, sir. You are on the EIB Network. Hi.
CALLER: Mega dittos, Rush!
RUSH: Thank you.
CALLER: Hey, my thought: I had a comment on your malcontent number one, and it just enhances what I already thought about liberals. There's only two reasons for being a liberal, that I have seen. One is you're so selfish that you've already made yours and you don't want anybody to make theirs -- and, two, they want something from somebody else (i.e, leech off the government), so I think that call was a great, great example of the first one.
RUSH: Wasn't just the fact that he was so selfish -- he already had his, he didn't want anybody else to make theirs -- he didn't care if anybody else made theirs.
CALLER: Exactly.
RUSH: He didn't care if there was suffering anywhere else. So he didn't give a rat's rear end about anything, and therefore being immune to suffering or unhappiness, why blame anybody for it if you don't care about it?
CALLER: Right.
RUSH: All he knows is that while Obama's running the show he's doing pretty well. Now, you gotta forgive me but I wasn't interested enough to ask him how it is that none of this stuff affects him. Some of you people might have wanted to know. I wasn't interested, because I don't believe what he said. I don't believe that he was telling us the truth. I don't believe the price of gas doesn't matter to him; I don't believe the price of housing doesn't matter. I didn't believe any of that. But even if he was being truthful about it, I didn't even want to go to how he made that happen. 'Cause I wasn't prepared to believe that, either.

Almost an SNL skit.
The first was so stupid I had to turn it off, as I felt brain cells dying just listening to this utter fool.
The caller finally admitted the main reason he supported Obama was because they’re both black. If they were both white Republicans, libs would call that “racism”.
Notice how, when asked directly what Obama did that was good he answered like any Liveral and switched his position 180 degrees?
RUSH: I’ll tell you why, because no matter who drops out of the Republican race, there’s still people in it, and no matter who drops out of the Republican Party, Obama is still doing a lousy job.
CALLER: Well, I don’t... Well, that depends on who you ask. I think he’s doing a fabulous job, and the — and it’s gonna be — it’s gonna be very, very, very hard to beat him. Why —
RUSH: Walter? Walter, I’m genuinely curious now. Tell me what you think constitutes a great job Obama is doing. What is it that he’s doing that’s great, fabulous? What do you like?
CALLER: That he’s not doing a bad job. I’ve never seen a president yet — yet — do a good job at being president of the United States.
>>When President Bush was president and the gas prices was $5 <<
I remember it hitting near $3.00 between 2001-2008 and everyone went into full-throttle freak-out mode.
Now we have an anti-energy liberal in office so the libs need to invent history lies (no surprise — they are liberals, so they lie).
What is the average IQ of the average Obama voter. I’d be willing to bet it’s at least 15 points lower than GOP voters.
He does a fabulous job because he isn’t bad, heh??
um
oh
eh
and he’s black
lol
Eddie Murphy as BuckWheat and you've got a hit!
It was a classic, especially when he admitted to being a racist. Could you imagine someone calling in and saying I voted for McCain because he was white?Rush handled the call with brillance as always.
He doesn’t know $&#@ and admitted as much. He said that gas was $5 a gallon when Bush was President. Bullstalin.
He couldn’t own up to any achievements of Obama that he celebrates.
He’s a know-nothing. Probably one of the many Obama voters who believed that the Republicans were in charge of Congress in 2007 and 2008.
Shades of Moochelle's "I've never been proud of 'my' country my whole adult life UNTIL NOW".
Don't like it here or find ANYTHING to celebrate in 200+ years of existence?
Hit the road then.
Media Matters will put out a press release today saying that even conservatives are decrying Rush Limbaugh’s show for having racist callers.
“The caller finally admitted the main reason he supported Obama was because theyre both black.”
Then he should join the GOP and vote for Hermain Cain in the primaries.
I have often wondered what happened to the woman, when Obama was elected, that said he was going to buy her a house, pay for her gas and car. It was all over the news and the net. Wonder how the hope and changed worked out for her.
There, fixed it.
I must have slept through $5 gasoline when Bush was president
that was randi rhodes unemployed live in the trailer bum
The Malcontents are running your country.
Have a nice day. :)
I heard this. Honest to God, that was one of the stupidest sounding black dudes I ever heard. That moron never voted prior to this election in his life and yet like a lot of ignorant, under-educated black guys he tried to come off sounding as if he had a PhD in political science. The more he kept yapping the dumber he sounded.
