EDITORIAL: Deport California’s illegal-alien convicts
The Washington Times ^ | May 24, 2011 | Editorial

Not everyone has the right to be in America

If the U.S. Supreme Court says California has to create room in its prisons by releasing convicts, the least the federal government can do is send those who are illegal aliens back over the border. The message is simple: If you come to our country and don’t follow the rules, you’re outta here.

On Monday, the Supreme Court ruled in the case of “Brown v. Plata” that overcrowding in California prisons constituted a violation of the Eight Amendment’s ban on cruel and unusual punishment. The court affirmed the judgment of a three-judge federal court that ordered the Golden State to release up to 46,000 of the state’s 140,000 inmates. The 5-4 decision was strongly contested, with dissenting Justice Samuel A. Alito warning, “The majority is gambling with the safety of the people of California.”

The state could mitigate the public danger posed by released prisoners with a little help from the feds. An estimated 19,000 of California’s convicts are illegal aliens, who cost the state approximately a billion dollars a year to incarcerate. In 2009, then-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger suggested deporting illegals as a cost-saving measure. The state argued at the time that “These inmates are the federal government’s responsibility and California taxpayers shouldn’t be paying the bill.” The federal government, however, was not as forthcoming as it might have been, and the plan didn’t meet its potential. Given that the current choice may be between deporting convicted illegals or letting them roam free, the case for deportation is even stronger.

For these criminal illegal aliens to be deported should go without saying. Sadly with Obama, Holder and Napolitano running the show they may just free them here.

Deport hell. Bring back the chain gangs and sentence them to hard labor.

When the deported criminals return to states like California the feds should lock them up in Federal prisons for long sentences. It is a felony to re-enter the United States after deportation. I don’t think the Feds are doing the job. The state and local taxpayers are so screwed.

I agree. The Obama administration wants amnesty and open borders and Nappy has her head so far up Obama she can’t see or hear a thing.

This is just an extension of what illegal aliens are doing to every other “service” the state provides. We’re going to continue letting them bankrupt our hospitals, but not our prisons; that’s just great.

What’s the impact of releasing thousands of convicts into the general population when there are millions of people unlawfully living in California?

Most of them that would get deported would be back here within a week.

There’s little doubt you’re correct.

Too bad they don’t pass a law that deported returnees that are caught will be sentenced to 5 years or some such term working a chain gang building the border fence then deported again.

Bingo, yep if I was convicted of a life time sentence I think I would love the opportunity to be just released over the border to reenter (illegally) society a few days later.

The prison doesn’t have the authority and ICE doesn’t have the interest.

It's been proven time and time again these hyphenates are national security risks......all of the hyphenates we've observed have a hidden agenda that undermines US interests........and are harmful to our internal security. Most Americans would concede that they are not comfortable being around hyphenates.

Hyphenation-separation is NOT the American way of life. Anything that hyphenates should be declared persona non grata in America. These hyphenates----balkanized separatists------put their loyalties to their homelands over and above the safety and security of US citizens.

We need to put this into law----that anything that hyphenates is considered a national security risk----they are persona non grata and should be ordered to leave the US.

All hyphenates should be outlawed......those whose allegiance lies with their ethnicity are mot welcome. Hyphenated should be ordered out. Their 'home countries' or continent will welcome them back with open arms.....especially with bags full of US tax dollars looted from the treasury (using multiple identities)

Those attempting to play both the Race Card and Oppressed Card at the same time should be advised that this is not the American Way of Life-----and it is against all the rules democracy demands for American citizenship.

=================================

Hyphenates are always poor-mouthing----invariably inventing sob stories yp get attention; constantly bleating about "victimization." Freud would have a field day with hyphenates' lack of self esteem.

What is "victimization"?

Victimization is a hyphenate's basic belief by which they blame, and find, others responsible for their own personal failures. For hyphenates, it "feels good" to be in the throes of victimization.

Hyphenates are always busy: A) causing victims, B) concocting victims, C) play-acting the victim, D) commiserating over victims, or E) creating other classes of victims to bleed over.

===========================================

PAY-ME-I'M-A-VICTIM Hyphenates constantly collude on ways to get taxpayers, and/or the courts, to subsidize them, to boost their lack of self-esteem.

THERE IS NOTHING IN THE US CONSTITUTION that compels US taxpayers to subsidize these people.

This is the United States of America.....a melting pot. Hyphenates should be banned.

If they can’t be deported how about making them wear those ankle devices and release them to sanctuary cities. They just wouldn’t be allowed to leave those areas.

My sentiments exactly Madame. I hate that bloody hyphen. I’m sick and G-D tired of someone who is something else first and an American when it’s convenient.
