(Reuters) - Three employees of a tough Arizona sheriff were arrested on Tuesday on charges that they helped a drug and human smuggling organization from Mexico, authorities said.
Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said one deputy and two county detention officers were among 16 people arrested on Tuesday on charges including assisting in a criminal syndicate, illegal control of an enterprise, human smuggling, drug trafficking and money laundering.

For the love of money is the root of all evil.....
Lucky the Pima County SWAT Team didn’t serve the warrants...
Contrast this with Sheriff Dupnik who’s circling the wagons around his deputies in the Guerina murder.
This is probably a problem that occurs along the border with all law enforcement officers. The temptation of money and drugs tend to drag way too many officers into illicit cooperation. Yea, we are becoming way too much like Mexico.
Welcome to our new world!
The refreshing part is that Sheriff Arpaio investigated and arrested his employees instead of asking for his cut of the action.
He arrested them because they were crooked.
Loyalty and Fraternity will keep cops in a lot of places out of Jail, but Arapaio don’t play that s**t.
Crooked cops only make it bad for the good ones.
They brought their customs with them.
joe is not happy. someone has lots of pink undies in their future.
As creative as that guy is when it comes to punishments I think pink undies will be the least of the perps' worries. PALIN-ARPAIO 2012 !
Which customs are you referring to?
Corruption by public officials.
