A lineup has been scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday -- when witnesses to the March 31 attack on paramedic Bryan Stow at Dodger Stadium will try to identify one of the attackers.
Immediately afterwards -- police and prosecutors plan to give reporters an update on the investigation.
31-year-old ex-con Giovanni Ramirez remains locked up on a parole hold while prosecutors consider whether or not to file criminal charges in the Stow assault.
A key factor in that decision will be the results of the lineup, authorities say.
Ramirez's family and attorneys insist he's innocent -- they say he's offered to take a polygraph to try and convince police he wasn't at the Stadium.
The family says Ramirez was home caring for his 10-year-old daughter, and one attorney was trying to arrange an interview so detectives could question the girl.
Numerous LAPD sources have complained the public announcement of the Ramirez arrest was premature -- that much more investigation was needed before confirming Ramirez was involved in the attack.
The sources say at least two or three other promising suspects were similarly identified, detained, questioned, and searched in recent weeks. All of them have since been cleared.
Is the Dodgers lineup beating anyone these days?
Another funky headline. Seems to be a lot of those nowadays.
Whoever wrote that headline must use English as a third language.
How much does it cost to get in? Can I use a night stick, or do I have to use my fists? Will former Dodgers (I'm looking at you, Manny) be in the lineup, or just present players?
Could you provide/post his picture, I haven't seen it.
More and More often I find myself thinking that certain people are irredeemable and need to be ‘disappeared’ so they can’t have any more repeat performances of their unacceptable behavior. The gang-bangers that beat Stow fall into that category, Jared Loughner definitely falls into it, as do some others that I dare not mention for fear of being banned. I don’t rightly care what form of disappearance is used, so long as decent society never has to hear from them again or hear any news reports about them.
He’s been described as a hispanic gang member with tattoos. That’s about half of the population of L.A. The other poster was pretty much right on with the comment.
I want to hear Vin Scully introduce the lineup...
I guess one plus of the SCOTUS order to release the California inmates is that they’ll never have a shortage of people to use for line ups.
I work in Hollywood and if I were to choose hanging out with idiot, white liberal Dems from faggot West Hollywood or these gang-bangers, I would choose the gang-bangers. At least they don;t lie to you that they are Americans unlike liberals.
