WASHINGTON – Donald Trump today issued a written statement to the leftist Mother Jones magazine and other news outlets denying he told Jerome Corsi, author of a new bestselling book about Barack Obama's constitutional eligibility, he suspected the birth certificate released by the White House is fraudulent.
Trump also said he had not read Corsi's book, "Where's the Birth Certificate? The Case That Barack Obama Is Not Eligible To Be President," despite having his staff sign a non-disclosure agreement to get the book three weeks before it was released May 17.
Trump does not deny calling Corsi this week but claims in his statement it was only to congratulate him on the sales of his book.
However, Corsi says Trump repeated a conversation he had weeks ago in a conference call with WND Editor and Chief Executive Officer Joseph Farah in which the building magnate said he is concerned about the validity of the document released April 27 by the Obama White House. Farah confirms Trump questioned the authenticity of the birth certificate and said others around him do as well.

I believe Donald Trump does what he says he will do. He had said when the latest documents were released by the White House that he hoped it was true...and that he was going to look at it.
I guess he did look at the document and found it lacking in validity....which so many others have.
WND has become about as believable as the Weekly World News. It’s only a matter of time before Bat Boy becomes part of the birth certificate conspiracy.
Trump ALWAYS denies reading or hearing about things he obviously has. You may fault Corsi for this book, but he did America a great service with his Swift Boat book in 2004. Has Trump ever done ANYTHING? Has he once visited our troops in Iraq or Afghanistan? Gary Sinise has gone there 20 times. Tim Pawlenty 7 times. Trump has unlimited resources and private jets, yet couldn’t manage it once, but thinks he would be a worthy be commander-in-chief?
Why won’t he re-ignite the issue if it’s a clear fraud? That tells me he is on the other side. Not surprising.
At the WHCD he looked pissed at being heckled by Osama/Obama. If he’d looked any other way he’d look like he was in cahoots. Just acting, like his whole life.
He’ll get some sort of casino bail-out soon, I think.
He has employees to read the book and make a report of what is significant?
This proves Trump is not to be trusted IMHO.
I bought several copies of Corsi’s “not fit for service”
But WND has become little more than an outlet to hawk conspiricy’s and sell conspiracy books.

“The Fraud” is a fraud.
This has been scrutinized for YEARS before Trump inserted himself into the subject. He’s only made himself suspect as to his motivation, now.
Trump is a not too fond memory for me. He should get lost.

Trump distancing himself from Farah and Corsi means he's serious about a presidential run. As long as he hangs out with these two knuckleheads, he'll never get any real serious voter support. I was hoping they would all go on the Alex Jones show and “alternative media” themselves into obscurity.

At approx 6:50 minutes into Corsi’s radio interview he says that Trump admitted to recently receiving “60 million times 220 million” dollars ! Then Corsi said “No one offered me $120 million dollars recently...” So the exact amount wasn’t cleary indicated, but Corsi specifically referenced this as a “big payoff from NBC” and stated it “looks like you dropped out over that payoff in relationship to the White House...”
If this is true, sounds terribly incriminating for Trump. Sounds like they tempted The Donald right where is most vulnerable, his pocket book. I hope I’m wrong.
UPDATE: Well, it looks like I should have gone with my gut and been more suspicious of the lack of direct quotes in the WND post. Trump sent us a response that is printed in full below:
“I am proud of the fact that I was able to get President Obama to release his birth certificate. President Clinton couldn’t do it, Senator Mc Cain couldn’t do it—no one else could do it! Frankly, many people were surprised that it took so long for this to happen. Is his birth certificate legitimate? I hope it is for the good of the country, but that’s for experts to determine—not me. I have not read the book written by Jerry Corsi nor did we discuss whether or not the birth certificate was computer generated or in any way fabricated. I merely asked him how his book was doing and wished him good luck.”

I started researching the candidates for Prez and VP in March, 2008, just as I’ve done every national election since 1976.
2008 was the first time information about one of the candidates was literally being wiped from the public forum as I did research. A newspaper would print an article and then it would disappear withing 24 hours.
I saved a great deal of information about Obama only to have my computer hacked and the contents of my hard drives stolen, then wiped clean. My nephew, an able and ethical hacker himself, followed the electronic trail to a Senate office building in Washington, D.C.
It was then I found websites containing facts about the past of Barak Hussein Obama II. His real name is Barry Soetoro and he has over three dozen SSNs.
There is no conspiracy. He is a con artist who went into politics using his wife’s political connections with the Daley Machine in Chicago to shield him from the law.
I bought Corsi’s book, which is well researched, and have been gratified that he has discovered everything that I had over the past three years, and then some.
I strongly suggest you read his book BECAUSE it is no longer a conspiracy, it is real and still happening.
No wonder you started that first long thread in 2008. I’ve been on board from the very beginning.
