MINNEAPOLIS - A $50,000 settlement has been reached in a case stemming from the police raid of a St. Paul home two days before the 2008 Republican National Convention.

Sarah Coffey, Erin Stalnaker and Kris Hermes announced Thursday they settled their case with the city of St. Paul and the federal government.

Under terms of the settlement, individual officers and agents are dismissed. Defense attorney Jason Hiveley says insurance companies for the city and federal government will cover the payment.

The agencies are admitting no wrongdoing. Hiveley says the case was settled for economic reasons.

Pisspoor article. No details as to why their house was raided or who they are.

The statement is vague.
Are the officers dismissed from the case or dismissed from their jobs?

$50K split three ways after lawyer fees for 3 years is going to add up to 28 cents a piece. Nice payday for these folks.

And the “agencies admit no wrongdoing,” WTF? Isn’t it about time someone took one of these cases to conclusion and sent someone to jail? Always it seems the defense lawyers are just looking for a quick payoff and the agency is willing to settle to avoid having the truth come out. Then they can go back and do the same stuff again with no judgement against them to dampen their enthusiasm for their illegal acts.
