PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has publicly announced his new challenge for 2011 -- only eating meat that he has slaughtered with his own bare hands, news.com.au reported Friday.

"I just killed a pig and a goat," he wrote on his private Facebook page earlier this month.

Zuckerberg sets a single new goal for himself every year.

Why doesn’t this idiot fix all the problems with facebook instead of condescending to tell us what he’ll be eating in the future. Can we have a demonstration of him killing an eggplant?

I don’t use Facebook so I don’t know what problems you speak of. But as a hunter and a fisherman, I’m all for one killing what they eat. What Zuckerberg does with his business is his business. What problems are they?

If he does that in Palo Alto, he’ll either be dead from starvation or in jail.

From the article:

"He cut the throat of the goat with a knife, which is the most kind way to do it,"

PETA's gotta love that line.

It also says he killed a pig. I haven't been to Palo Alto but I'm assuming he did the killing somewhere other than in the city limits.

No thanks. I’m not interested in joining and really don’t care enough about it to investigate.

The family was fixin’ to take off for the beach one weekend leaving me to do some work around the house.

They were going to eat supper somewhere on the road so I was eating along.

I went down to the store and picked out some nice lamb chops, brought them home and started prepping them for the grill. The eight year old daughter came by and asked what they were. “Lamb Chops”

With a sad look on her face, her reply - “What’s next? Puppies?”

Vegetarians should raise chickens for a year. They may not want to eat chicken at the end of the year but they sure would want to kill them.

at the end of last year’s Grey Cup championship game in Canadian Football, Montreal quarterback Anthony Calvillo stepped to the microphones and told a national audience that he “gives all credit and praise and glory to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ”.

I do believe that may qualify as a Hate Crime in Canada.

I don’t think he meant ‘Bundy’ or ‘Dahmer’. I think he meant ‘NUGENT’.

Via the Fortune article:

"And I've learned a lot about sustainable farming and raising of animals," he says."

I'd really like for someone to follow up on wtf he meant by that, and where the source of his "education" is from.

In my experience, anytime you bring sustainability into the conversation, there is more than wildlife conservation and land preservation involved.

IMO this is part of an ongoing campaign to soften up the public and make "sustainability" the new cool thing for the youth. It's nothing like the conservation principles that we all know and live by.

People that have rules about what meat they will eat remind me of the old joke where a man asks a women to go home with him and she says she is no whore but the guy asks if she’ll do it for a million busk and she says yes, to which he replies, “So, we’ve establish that you are indeed a whore, it is just a matter of how much.”

Did he really kill a pig with his BARE HANDS? That seems kind of cruel to the animal.
