Chris Christie says global warming is real. Its just the very man-made government programs to correct its effects that are bloated and flawed.
The Republican New Jersey governor launched into an explanation Thursday for why hes bowing out of a landmark regional cap-and-trade program for power plants, according to Politico, but he first strapped on his layman scientists cap to give a brief overview of whats widely considered accepted climate science.
His decision to leave the program, known as the RGGI, drew quick praise from conservative groups, including the Koch brothers Americans for Prosperity, that have long lobbied him to abandon the RGGI ship.
In the past Ive always said that climate change is real and its impacting our state,

Saving face.
Can’t quite admit the entire scheme is a scam.
Relentless radio ads demanding he take NJ out of the consortium has forced his hand.
No more Christie for me: RINOism confirmed.
Put Chris Christie on the Sh__t list !What an ignorant Jackwad !
RE: Chris Christie says global warming is real
The earth has been warming and cooling alternately for centuries. What part of the cycle are we in right now Mr. Christie?
And even if you could answer that question, is there a dam thing you can I can do about it?
Que the Twilight Zone music over the video of Nancy Pelosi moving her couch to Christie’s front lawn.
It is POLLUTION that is real, and we should stop all of that
No one wants dirty air.
But these Global Warming scammers are just going forwards, bold as brass, as if we DID NOT find out they lied about their data???
HEY YOU GUYS~!! WE KNOW YOU LIED AND MADE UP YOUR DATA ALREADY - SO STOP IT
“I have read FReepers say that they liked Christie for Prez.”
Just the un-informed. FReepers who do the research know the truth about Christie. He’s liberal on other issues as well.

Christie is rather bloated and flawed as well.
So he’s a loser on illegal immigration and global warming. The list keeps growing.
I see it and I am to say the least dismayed,,to believe the greatest hoax played upon civilization is real is the ultimate red flag for me.
Highs today are only expected to get into the mid 50s today in southern Michigan. Can I get me some of this so called global warming?
I think he’s probably equivocating his remarks just to get the NJ press off his back. That’s not to say if he were running for governor of Oklahoma he’d turn into Jim Inhofe on the issue, but he’s doing this now to send us a message of where he stands on C&T. I think he’s running.
Besides, I could believe that humans are having SOME impact on the climate, but to say we’re driving the different climate conditions is patently absurd. Even more absurd is the idea that some politicians can craft a scheme that can actually change the climate.
He needs to be asked, point blank, if human carbon emissions are the cause of climate change.
Then, follow up with
“how can a contributor that is 0.117% of the total greenhouse effect be changed to have any significant impact on the whole greenhouse effect?”
LLS
Is he sure about this? I mean, it’s May 27th and my feet are freezing.
They have only heard him get tough with a few mouthy teachers, makes him look tough, but he is a gun grabber, global warming baloney believer, and recently appointed a Muslim to a high court. One of three republicans that attended the State Dinner for China.......
There is a lot of pollution, and I would prefer not to be poisoned. I suppose I could call my self an enviromentalist because I don’t want to be poisoned.
I don’t believe in Global Warming at all. I just don’t care.
When someone tells me how WE melted the ice cap that used to be right on top of where I’m at right now, I might start thinking about it.
All this talk about “global warming” gives polluters an excuse, and the government accepts that excuse.
Goretex jackets are made from teflon. Teflon poisons people as part of the manufacturing process with a man made chemical which stays in the body for years.
Goretex believes that, although they are poisoning you, it’s still a “green” product, because their garment doesn’t have to be washed as often, and lasts longer.
I don’t care at all about how warm or cold the planet is. If you’re going to buy waterfront property, buy it on a hill.
I don’t care about how much energy anyone uses.
I do want Natural products, and not Toxic Chemicals.
Obama is very weak on the environment (new GMOs from Monsanto approved during Obama), and a Green Party nominee could do quite well, and quite well for the Republicans, in 2012. There should be a Green Party candidate.
You realize that twice in history, there were glaciers in Central Park, they went away long before man was here, at least as far as we know, nor have we dug up any SUV fossils, at least not yet.
Christie’s way of saying irrefutably that he is not running for president.
Man, just when I think there is a politician out there to lead us out of the abyss, this comes out. This puts a nail in the coffin as far as I am concerned.
I am from New Jersey and have tried at different times to warn others that Christie is not a conservative. I am very grateful that he is squashing this insane cap and trade scheme but he continually takes left-wing positions such as the absurd claim that he makes here.
Christie obviously believes that man-made global warming is effecting New Jersey. How?
He is full of it. Maybe we could spend another 4 million in tax payer dollars here to study cow farts at Rutgers while real people here in New Jersey are suffering due to the high taxes and unfriendly business environment.
Ah, Chris, we hardly knew ye. But a bit too much of what we did know, we didn’t like.
I don’t know if Christie is the greenest, but I do think that he is the most uninformed on the science of global warming (or lack of it).
I have to agree with him on the ban on construction of new coal fired power plants, but not because of global warming, but because they are just plain dirty and unhealthful. There is no reason to burn coal if we can burn natural gas.
Anyone who visited London, back in the nineties, will remember seeing all the cyclists wearing disposable masks to keep the coal dust out of their lungs and hearing the story of why there are so many buildings in London that are painted “Magnolia” white. It’s because some wealthy man, who was tired of seeing the blackened fronts of buildings (from the coal dust) around London, left his fortune to the city to paint buildings Magnolia white, once every ten years. If you want a different color, you have to buy the paint yourself.
So, if global warming is real then I guess Christie needs to go complain to China and Mexico!
He needs to talk to Inhofe.
Regardless of what he said, he did the right thing.
If he runs, I'd want to hear his environmental and energy policy before condemning him.
Did you know that the polar ice caps on Mars are retreating?
Do martians drive SUV’s?
This is just another reason the GOP is a mess. The party can’t effectively attack Obama when it is easy and can be done. even two of the big name tea party people elected, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio, are a mess. Rubio supports amnesty and Rand is all over the map like not voting for Paul Ryan’s plan or supporting the Patriot Act. Then you have Col. West voting against piecemeal repeal of Health Care. Regardless of West’s reasons, it is making people like me confused, confounded and unsure of whom to trust.
So why isn’t he supporting the cap and trade program? Does he not have the courage of his convictions?
I meant that Rand Paul is not supporting the Patriot Act. Plus I am all confused about what he is doing. I read to really read up.
I need to really read up on what is up with Rand. As for Christie he has a bunch of rino skeletons in his closet. Good for New Jersey not for the country.
It was only a mattrt of time before Christie showed his real colors.
The good news is that it came sooner than later. Tea Party conservatives control this next election cycle. They will not support this guy if the RINOs try to run him.
Despite all that’s been written exposing the global warming scam, Christie cannot accept it because of the rigidity of his idiology. What really galls me is that the man believes in the gullibility of the majority of voters.
Buh bye Mr. Christie.
One more potential Pubbie candidate bites the dust.
Yes I did know that.
Normally, I don’t discount or write off a candidate based on a few off the conservative track beliefs, but this one is a big one that impacts how our country is going to be able to operate and grow our economy in the future. If he believes that global warming is real, that is, caused by man, and not just a sun/earth phenomenon that goes through cycles that cover generations at a time, there is a problem with that because of it’s reach into our pockets and limits to our freedoms..... He needs to be educated I think....
An Islamic Judge and Global warming from this guy? And some think hed be a good Presidential candidate? Not in my lifetime if I can help it.
And amnesty for illegals.
I agree. The vanity of some humans to think they can control nature is beyond belief. How long until we need to start changing our lifestyle to “save the galaxy”?
Good tag line.
Rush plays a great speech by Charlton Heston, that puts man in the tiny place he belongs in God’s world.
***So hes a loser on illegal immigration and global warming. The list keeps growing.***
Unlike those two, however, he occasionally is fun to watch when he makes the Dems’ heads explode.

Judge orders U.Va. to hand over climate records
Global Warming on Free Republic
Thanks! Can safely consign him to the holding cells, along with Mitt, Mitch, Rude-E, Eye of Newt, Ronald McTrump, Timmy’s Gone To The Well Pawlenty-a-times, I Don’t Want My Bloomiesburger, Harrold Stassen, and a few others.
Hmmm....Who does that leave? Palin-Bachman? Or Bachman-Palin?
Christie didn’t get the word; it’s called climate change. Of course the climate is changing; it’s always changing.
I’m cheering him on with what he’s doing in Jersey, but I don’t want him any higer than a cabinet secretary in an unrelated field with those kind of views on immigration and climate change- maybe treasury or attorney general?
