Say Bert, how come youse Noo Yawkuz chose the absolute widest part of the river to put the bridge anyway?

That location placed it just beyond the range of the Port Authority of NY & NJ, according to a friend. The George Washington Bridge is about 25 miles to the south of the Tappan Zee.
