Raleigh, N.C. An eastern North Carolina lawmaker is standing behind his characterization of the NAACP and its state president as racist.
Rep. Stephen LaRoque, R-Lenoir, sent a May 14 e-mail to the NAACP, in response to an announcement from the group about a Greenville news conference to protest budget cuts proposed by Republican lawmakers.
The announcement read, in part, "Tea Party extremists seized the Republican Party and declared war on African Americans, poor people and other minorities."
"I have no interest in receiving anything from a Racist such as William Barber," LaRoque wrote in his reply, referring to the state president for the NAACP. "He and the NC NAACP represent everything that is wrong with race relations in our state and country. You should be ashamed of yourself for continuing to promote racism but that is the modern day legacy of the NAACP as a racist organization led by Racist individuals who are Cowards."
Barber said Friday that he was shocked by the comments, but LaRoque said he has no intention on backing off.

God bless! His words should be echoed across this Country at every local office of the NAACP. It’s time they were relegated to the dustbin of history.
Some people are using the term “racer”. I would also suggest “reverse racism” instead of reverse descrimination. The meme has to be turned.
pinggeroo.
He's are so entrenched in race baiting, he's shocked by the truth.
Makes my day!
Only white conservatives and libertarians can be racist, doncha know.
The Left calls people of color, who are also conservative or libertarian, “oreos” or “uncle Toms” or other clearly racist pejoratives, and nobody of any consequence has called them out on it.
I hope and pray that’s about to change.
Remember the saying..”if the show fits”
Call it like ya see it bro!
NAACP is nothing short of the Black Klan just as La Raza is the hispanic Klan.
How long before he’s told to apologize by his party leaders?
How long before he apologizes? I hope he doesn’t because all he did was tell the truth.
If LaRoque doesn’t apologize, it’ll be the first time (at least in my memory) that a Republican hasn’t backed down with an apology.
We’ll soon see what he’s made up.
Meanwhile, congratulations to him for speaking the truth and I hope he stays firm. It’s way beyond time to call these leftists out on their propaganda.
I second the term “racer”, and I believe that it should enter the lexicon, which is done through frequent use. Hopefully associated with the people known for their race baiting. This can be as simple as,
“Jesse Jackson, a racer...”
“Al Sharpton, who often makes racer comments...”
“Paul Krugman, a racer editorialist for the New York Times...”
“Assistant Minority Leader, James Clyburn (D-SC), made another racer comment today...”
Push back push back push back. Liberals have no real ground to stand on so just keep pushing back.
Mike
Barber has been pushing the race card for years in NC; finally someone says “Enough!” Must find Rep LaRoque’s email and support him. thanks for the post!
“I would also suggest reverse racism instead of reverse descrimination”
“Reverse” racism implies only Caucasians, ie. “white people” are the only racists on earth.
Hate’s hate, there’s no two ways.
The neverending human toll, in the USA, of leftwing, racist hate is staggering in ferocity and viciousness, and the misery it inflicts.
The race card expired on 1/20/09 and is non-renewable.
Who was it that was called the Klan with a tan?
