After the sermon was delivered at the Joplin, MO tornado memorial service, President Obama, who was sitting in the front row, was clearly scene chewing on something.

Of all the things we can rightly critize about him, chewing gum during a worship service isn’t really one of them. Many people chew gum during church.

Not sure about your Church, but I have yet to ever see anyone in my Church chew gum during Mass, not even children. It is just plain disrespectful.
