Willowick SWAT team called to home [for his own good]
News-Hearald ^ | 31 May 2011 | Tracey Read

Willowick police responded this morning to a SWAT situation at a home in the 200 block of East 330th Street.

A woman called officers at 2:20 a.m. saying she had a disagreement with her boyfriend, who had walked to his home nearby.

“He kind of indicated to her that he was going to kill himself with a gun,” Willowick Police Chief Michael Lazor said.

“He had a CCW permit and his girlfriend thought he had assault weapons. There was concern he might be suicidal.”

Around 4:15 a.m., Emergency Response Team negotiators were called out to the scene.

Police repeatedly attempted to reach the man by phone, but he never answered even though it appeared he was up and awake.

The commander of the team decided to use a flash bang — a device that creates a big flash of blinding light and makes a loud noise — on the front lawn to get the man’s attention.

“It worked. He came out and saw the police,” said the chief. “I don’t believe he knew the officers were there before because it was so dark.”

The man was taken into custody for his own safety and taken for a routine medical evaluation.

Good thing he didn't investigate the disturbance with his gun.

The story has almost no details so who knows what the guy did or said when he came out of his house

Normal SWAT tactics would be one door tap dymanic entry blow the guy away and then ask questions. So it looks like SWAT did the right thing

In florida the police can “baker act” if they think you are a danger to yourself or others

Ha! That’s nothing compared to what you’re wife can have them do to you if she ever says that you hit or threatened her! Or what any random woman can do if she decides to call in a false rape allegation against you. We live in a police state were unfounded allegations have a similar effect to what used to happen in the old Soviet Union, welcome to Amerika comrade!

1. Convert homeowner to Swiss cheese with close to a hundred rounds.

2. Eradicate any dogs.

3. Double check address.

I routinely turn the ringer off on my phone when I go to bed at night. I didn’t know that could get me cuffed and stuffed and sent off for evaluation.

He’s lucky to be alive. The SWATstapo usually doesn’t leave live witnesses.

Who came up with this plan?

Send a SWAT team to make him feel even worse and perhaps provoke an ‘incident’ yeah, that’ll work.

Is this the standard response for most calls now?

Despondent male – send in the SWAT team!

Search warrant – send in the SWAT team!

Cat up in a tree – send in the SWAT team!

Yes, Shoot first (71 times), ask questions later (at least an hour later).

This episode, my friends, is what’s known as “getting even”. They had an argument, he left, and she wanted to get back at him in any way she could, so she decided to call the law on him and use them to do her “dirty” work. He isn’t suicidal, never was. He is guilty only of not giving in to her irrational (probably liberal) demands.
