To a lefty the worst place to go to cool off is the beach. It’s like they are from Bizzarro World.

“Us do opposite of all Earthly things! Us hate beauty! Us love ugliness! Us leave beach, stand in hot street.”

Hot as Hades here in Tennessee. My son has a job as a parking lot attendant and was out in the sun and heat all day. He drank over a gallon of water and is just fine.

Mobs of trouble making black teenagers caused the police to shut down the Wave Country swimming pool yesterday. Something about the heat makes people stupid.

I remember in Cincinnati some years ago, they closed down several community pools because the inner city yoots thought it was “funny” to poop in them. They had to shut them because of the health hazard. BWAAHAAHAA. Now nobody gets to enjoy them.

Mine was Siesta Key Beach and I intentionally picked one with sand and water.

BTW if the water is 55 degrees at the end of May its not a beach. Its the edge of a glacier.

SoCal beach water is around 58 or so now, and will only ever warm up to mid 60s in the summer.

The beaches off the Jersey shore was rather chilly this weekend.

One of the teachers at the school where I teach is a life guard. He told me that the water temps went down quite a bit.

The water temps were 55 although the air temps were in the mid 80 to low 90's.

Quite a few of the kids told me it was too hot for the beach but too cold to jump in the water to cool off.

About the coldest I can handle now is 72, the temp of the natural springs. And only if its hot out so you can warm up.

I used to be able cold water but the blood has thinned too much.

44!! thats ice diving not swimming

I’d have to have a dry suit for that and could understand not wanting to go into that.

I am with you.

Use to be, "in the day" my brothers and sisters would go swimming no matter the temp, on Memorial Day.

That cedar water could be damn cold, but we seemed to tolerate it pretty well.

That’s what I thought as soon as I read this story.

The real story is something else. Why the heck are our “urban yute” going berserk this summer?

The Memorial Day weekend has been nothing but reports of the closings of amusement parks, picnic grounds and streets because of “bands of youths.” What gives?

I remember that in San Diego. Hot as heck, but the water was ice cold. Even that far south.
