Ohio GOP has a spotty bench. Nobody knows Taylor or the other guy(see whaddeye mean?), but Mandel was a strong campaigner. Jordan, IDK.
Brown has name recognition and incumbency, but he is not especially popular. He has been a career member of the criminal element, and gained the Senate during the Taft-Bush meltdown years.
My gut reaction is that if it's a good year for us generally, he can be taken out. I hope so. Sherrod brown sucks canal water.
As a former SE Ohio resident, family and friends seem to have swung back to the dark (left) side of the political spectrum after the legislation curtailing public union power was passed. Is this going to be an issue in Ohio during 2012? If I remember correctly, Kasich barely defeated Strickland the rat in 2010.
