Not fun. Even more time stuck in traffic.

Thankful everyone is OK.

With over 120 North American pro sports teams, and their frequency of travel, it may only be a matter of time.

Well practiced training scenario for airline crews. Planned arrival into SNA, but an aircraft issue requires a divert to LAX. SNA has a 5700 ft runway. LAX has four runways the longest of which is 12000 ft.

That's impressive. Speaking of room to spare, I noticed when flying out of COS a few years back that they, too, had a couple miles' worth of runway and then some.

Glad everyone was okay. I find the name of this team amusing, though. The Angels Angels of Anaheim.

At KCOS you may need every foot of that runway on a hot summer day. The field elevation there is 6200 MSL.

The air is thinner at 6000+ elevation.

Landing a John Wayne is hard to do with a perfect plane. I always get a kick out of watching passengers that have never done it, those noise abatement laws make it a roller coaster ride in and once on the ground the plane will stop before your body does.

The Minneapolis Lakers plane had an emergency landing in an Iowa corn field back in 1960.

I was only thinking of pro teams. Probably the largest team loss of life in US amateur sports was the Marshall football team crash in 1970, where 75 died, 37 of whom were players.
