Glenn Beck’s Last Day On Fox Slated for June 30 By Alex Weprin on June 2, 2011 10:58 AM

Fox News host Glenn Beck‘s last day at the channel is currently slated for June 30, according to Mediaite. As we reported yesterday, Beck had a rough month ratings-wise in May, slipping -17% in total viewers and -33% in the adults 25-54 demo compared to last year. That said, he still handily topped his competition on CNN and MSNBC.

As TVNewser first reported last week, Beck is planning to launch a web-based TV network called GBTV after he leaves FNC. No launch window has been given for the new service, but as we reported at the time former FNC executive Joel Cheatwood is already developing programming for it.

FNC has not named a permanent replacement for Beck, though one name that we have heard in conversations is Megyn Kelly, who went on maternity leave after having her second child earlier this year.

Was he really getting as looney a people say? We killed cable here in our house almost a year ago, and the last time I saw him, he was going on about Soros like people used to talk about David Rockefeller back in the Seventies—eeeevillll incarnate.

Glen Beck is a modern day Cassandra.

His assessments and predictions are correct ... but ... it’s hard to listen to him ... so ... few do.

Occasionally but mostly he's had a top notch show. Still one of the best on FOX.

you may have nailed it, right there. His style appeals to a very small sliver of the commercial market, which is what Fox News is in the business of serving. Without regard for his views, intelligence, philosophy, etc - he’s not a viable platform for advertizing, and that’s the ballgame.

He freakin’ drives me crazy with his begging and crying... If he would act like a man and quit the wussiness, he would do a lot better.
The problem is he thinks he can stop Armageddon. It's coming and nobody can stop it. He should say two things...
It's almost here and you need to prepare.

His ratings are amongst the highest on cable tv. His style both attracts viewers and turns off others. The only person on earth I can think of that would pull a larger tv audience in that time slot would be Limbaugh. Whoever takes the slot will be lucky to pull 50% of the audience.

Remember, Limbaugh was a total failure on television. Even back when he was funny, his spiel played to a radio audience, and not television.

And he’s even losing the former, now. (I haven’t listened to him in a long while, so I can’t speculate or address the possible reasons.)

Beck has said and brought up a lot of issues that others on T.V. won't and on other Fox programs. Down side is that he can be a depressing to listen to all the time.

I'm getting to the point were I can't stand watching Fox all together because they keep promoting Charles Krauthammer and Carl Rove. I can't stand those Rino pushing idiots. And Ted Baxter, O'Reilly is a waste of time to watch.

I’m glad I killed my cable, then. I’ll stick to the internet for news.

Glenn’s going underground like his rival Alex Jones and also PJ TV. Glenn is planning a web only internet tv channel, just as Alex Jones is planning one. Glenn said he wants to leave New York, Just like Rush Limbaugh did. Alex Jones is from Austin, Texas. So it seems a push is underway to leave NYC. If thinks get worse I wonder if Mark Levin would be the next to leave New York.

Sort of a surprise. I thought he was to stay until around the year’s end. It’ll be interesting to see what Beck does after June 30th, and also interesting to see if the official explanations for his leaving hold up.

Yes, a bit, but here is why(IMHO): He is seeing the patterns of world that many of us saw building a few years before he did. And that will drive you looney over time. And the MSM actually abets it.

Rush is as strong as ever and hasn't lost one iota of what he had. His show is compelling and he is a marvel to listen to. I've been listening since the late 80s.

What a great opportunity to allow him to sign off of FOX with a few shows showing how the birth certificate is a fake.

He’s got nothing to lose, and if someone can lift the fog around this fraud, it’s Beck.

Rushs TV failed be cause no one put him on at a good hour...

I do not think he liked TV...He would be good on a panel..where he does ten minutes...maybe he could replace Krauthammer..they really need a good tea party person on that panel
