Long story. I had been out of town for a couple of days and couldn't FReep.
When I came back, I looked up a Palin / Perry food fight.
DJMacWow had mentioned that a vintage 1998 FReeper had got the zot.
I didn't see any names in that thread, so I looked for Palin threads.
I found a long one hosted by the (now gone?) "Conservative Coulter Fan". Since the real Coulter *had* apparently attacked Palin, and the eponymous FReeper was now gone, I used the search function to look at prior posts by CCF, assuming that they had been the Zottee. (I was wrong, by the way: the lightning-rider had been a pro-Palin person, one Tempest by name.) While going back hrough CCF's posts and associated threads, I found the remark in question, and didn't look at the date.
Footnote: I found out it was Tempest when DJMacWow Freepmailed me with the name, by my request. So I did a search on Tempest's posts, too, and they looked like they were doing machine-gunning rapid fire attacks one after the other on anyone and everyone associated with Perry. Good call by the mods.
Food fights are fine, but if they just degenerate into "you're a poopy head" -- "NO! *YOU* are!" -- without any substantive discussion of issues, or links to info, or even quotes from posts to bolster one's points, they tend to detract from FR.

all over the Palin threads, that if I don't happen to recognize the poster as a known Palin fan, I tend to regard any criticism of her with a somewhat jaundiced eye.
Notice that I didn't go all the way and flame you as a troll, or call you a robot, or a plant. But if even Palin admits her ideas have been held and advanced by others, it doesn't seem like an effective criticism of her to point out the same thing.
As far as the Rock Star status, it sure isn't because of any slick marketing campaign (Obama) or slush fund (Perry's $55 million fund to sweep the early primaries). Her fans chose her because of her energy, likability, and sincerity, and clove to her all the tighter as she was subjected to a sh!tstorm of vicious personal attacks unmatched in modern political history, directed not only at stopping her candidacy, but in destroying her personal life and her family as well. And the grace with which she has borne up under it -- while continuing to advance her ideas -- helps to draw crowds who support her as well as her anti-establishment, anti-pig-trough conservatism.
And no, it doesn't remind me of anyone else.

At any given time right now, it seems like half the site is rabid fans of one candidate or another. And that may be on the low side. And if you decide to sign up another account, as long as you’re mentioning everything else, don’t forget to mention she talks funny. I think I’ve mentioned before that I always find that impressive.
(I might be slightly sarcastic about that last one.)

As you say, there are so many food fights going on, it just caught my attention when a 3-month-old one got bumped to the top again with pings to mods. Now I see other posters have started replying to the OP again, who has been banned for weeks already. LOL!
That makes me a "Lack of thought" leader: I often log in and look at my pings, or the latest posts, and either reply directly, or go to the top of the thread and start reading and replying...without ever noticing the dates involved.
I guess a lot of other people are doing the same thing.
Oh well, as Calvin said in Calvin and Hobbes, I like to make everyone's day a little more surreal.
