U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Gave $1.29 Million to China
Cybercast News ^ | June 2, 2011 | Fred Lucas

The Environmental Protection Agency has given at least $1,285,535 in grants to China to promote environmental research in the country.

In all, the EPA issued six grants that went to China, most of which pertained to researching methane in Chinese coal mines and reducing carbon emissions in China, a communist dictatorship long criticized by human rights groups. Two of those grants were awarded during the Bush administration; four were awarded during the Obama administration.

The issue, at a time of mounting debt and deficits, is about fiscal responsibility, said Robert Gordon, senior advisor for strategic outreach for the Heritage Foundation, who has closely monitored EPA grants, and recently wrote a piece criticizing the Chinese grants.

“I’m just not sure that the EPA has addressed all the things it’s supposed to be doing here in the best manner possible before they’re spending money overseas,” Gordon told CNSNews.com.

“At the end of the day we’re spend the end of the day, we’re spending money that we don’t have and on things we shouldn’t be spending it on if we had it.”

China is not an ally of the United States. Long ago, Nikita Kruschev said “We will bury you and you caplitaists will sell us the shovels.” Now it looks like our government will give them the shovels.

DIsgusting. I am sick and tired of folks complaining about American citizens getting too much Social Security and Medicare when we have these foreign countries getting our money. This is so disgusting that I could spit. Ok I did.

And that is why I disagree with Republicans about cutting Social Security and Medicare. Once they cut out all this crap, all foreign aid, every worthless bureaucracy, then they can come talk to me about cutting programs that every working American is forced to pay into every paycheck. Til then they can kiss my rosy red behind.

I don’t care. That is the stupidest excuse I have ever heard. I guess if I have personal debt, I won’t cancel my cable because it only takes up 1 percent of the debt. Wake up folks. We will never get rid of our debt if we continue to give it away to all these countries. Ok fine let’s continue to keep Israel on our welfare but no other country. It is so ridiculous that folks support this China nonsense. Are they even our friend????? I don’t believe so at all.

I’d end all foreign aid and entitlements, but I’m an ogre.

If we can’t even end AMTRAK and PBS funding, we’ll never get close to reforming entitlements.

What authority does the EPA have to help China study THEIR environmental concerns???

The EPA is so absolutely rogue that it should be one of the first agencies completely dismantled.

I agree in principle that we are getting a raw deal by those in charge... it’s just that the factory to make the shovels got sent to China years ago!
