Glad he did not kill anybody important.

here’s some more info.
is this Sheriff Dumbrick’s area?
Trying to think of the ol’ saw that goes something like this... if you mess with an old person they’ll just kill you. Not justifying anything as my awareness of the facts are limited to what I read in the thread. In the same vein, old people are also far more successful in their suicide attempts than the youngsters are by a wide margin. Old fogeys don’t play.
Looks like a case of “settling old debts” with finality.
Dyess under duress.... Dang.
It seems statistically odd that a 73 year old would go on a killing spree.
After a hard day in Yuma Dyess felt just shot!
Court records show Dyess was involved in two civil court cases, one in Yuma and one in nearby Wellton.

Being a lawyer can be a little hectic.
Holy Moly - Some folks had a really, really bad day.
I was surprised to read 91,000 people live in Yuma. When we went through there 20 years ago, it must have been 110 in the shade. The Dairy Queen worker handed us an ice cream cone that was dripping down her arm. Just can’t imagine so many people putting up with that heat.
“....identified this victim as Jerrold Shelley, a local attorney.”
Well, that’s a plausible motive right there. I’m surprised it does not happen more often.
