I’m sorry for his children. First, their mother’s cancer returned followed by the public report of their father’s affair and child. Edwards children had to endure their parents divorce, their mother’s death, and now their father’s arrest and indictment.

Edwards is a self consumed individual. His children have my sympathies.

I disagree. His entire career, both as a lawyer and as a politician, have damaged our country. He belongs in jail.

I was speaking of Edwards the politician. As a parasitic trial lawyer, he has done serious damage, and I should have considered that aspect of his life. You are correct.

Somewhere there are many OB/GYN docs that might feel perhaps a bit vindicated. Sure their careers, lives and money were viciously taken from them by one of the biggest weasels we have allowed to exist. But seeing that guy shed some tears, have his freedom and fortune taken away, and God willing sees some serious time in prison - might just be a ray of hope and redemption.
I think they should have a reserved cheering section at the trial apportioned for NC’s docs, esp OB/GYNs.
Chances are it would be standing room only with tickets being scalped for big money outside the courtroom.

hey Mr Ed, go down and go down hard.

What a fall. Too bad the FEC (and moribund press) has no interest in the millions raised illegally by the Obama campaign through foreign small donors and conduit contributions made by maxed-out and fictitious donors.

I wonder if he would have been indicted had he been VP. It was very close.

I doubt it. The media would come screaming to his aid and the courts would notice and do nothing.

Man, when these guys fall, they fall hard.

Makes you wonder the deals they make to let each other take the hit....they mostly all walk in the end. I suspect Edwards wasn't big enough or positioned enough to cover his butt as they have others. He was expendable.

Bottom line is you put your junk where it doesn't belong you're going to loose your wife and children...that's the price. Even if "she stands by her man"...it's over...will never be what it was intended...and the man will pay out of his pocket book where most have their heart located.

"Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned? Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched?........Yet if he is caught he must pay sevenfold, though it costs him all the wealth of his house...... a man who commits adultry lacks judgement, whoever does so destroys himself." Prov.6:17-32

Not for the millions of unemployed

Meh, large numbers of those people are on government assistance and most of them aren't going to vote Republican anyway. The chronically unemployed, those on disability, etc, are mostly a permanent Democrat voting block - they are not going to vote for a candidate or a party that even discusses the idea of scaling back their freebies. Obama's mostly already got these people's vote.

‘a few months of pooty tang with a new age nut-job.’

Hey, that ‘new age nut-job’ is from here in Ocala. There must be something about her — the famous electrocuting the show horse for insurance case was about her father and her horse, and the novelist Jay McInery (sp) used her as a character in two noveels.

For a campaign finance scandal that absolutely dwarfs this, Hillary paid no price whatsoever. Amazing.

Will the “trial” be in NC? If so, he may be freed quickly, for a Carolinian hates more than anything to admit that he has been conned.

Yes, there’s about a 44 percent floor which Obama can’t fall under. Many Americans will support Obama to avoid admitting they were conned.

Meh, large numbers of those people are on government assistance and most of them aren't going to vote Republican anyway.

You're giving Obama way too much credit by claiming that the economy is not all that bad and that those unemployment numbers are merely government assistance people and would not work if they could.

That is NOT the case.

However, there will come a point where desperate republican voters without a job and facing the shelters and losing their children due to lack of resources to support them WILL indeed vote for the party that promises to hand out the cash.

This is probably the ultimate goal of Obama and his party. Long-term it has always been the ultimate goal.

There is NO excuse for this economy.

For a campaign finance scandal that absolutely dwarfs this, Hillary paid no price whatsoever. Amazing.

Indeed - and as huge as that scandal is, a staggering number of other gigantic scandals are connected to her as well.

Which is why the REALLY spectacular news story, her being dumped for Obama (who, I believe, was to be her V.P.), is all the more important for never having been addressed at all.

I agree. I don’t understand how they have gone after this guy when there are others who have done worse and are making themselves filthy rich off the American taxpayer. Hillary and Bill the rapist are two examples

If you recall, during the primaries, Edwards and Obama suddenly teamed up against Hillary onstage. I believe Edwards himself started it, by saying "now Hillary" in a condescending fashion at one debate, and then lighting into her, seconded by Obama. The shock in her face was beyond priceless, because up until that time, she was just cruising in for her coronation.

Well, since she got dumped to the curb, Obama has taken protection in the White House. But poor John Edwards... did you know his cancer-ridden wife who he cheated on and shamed with a mistress child was... a very good friend of Hillary's?

Conclusion: I think Hillary is pulling a lot of strings to get him, and Obama is utterly indifferent to his fate.

“He’ll be found dead of suicide before then. Want to take that bet?”

Nah. Ain’t gonna happen. Remember, he’s a Lib. They have no shame or pride (as far as I can tell), only Valuable Life Experiences. silky Pony is unlikely to go to jail, and if he does, it will be at some upscale Club Fed. He’ll do two years (if that), come out, still have his huge house and most of his money, and make a new career out of doing the talk shows and talking about how he has “changed.” (Yeah, right.) Nope, no suicide for this little pony.

Possible...I saw the wake of ENRON'S demise - what it does to people.

But, how could he possibly do this to his children. Lost Mother. Father in disgrace. Reille. Baby Frances. Rest of worries. Older sibling died in car wreck years ago.

He needs to man up, take the penalty and do something for others instead of himself.

I think most women and not a few men, regardless of party, would look at his “humble” estate and forgive him.

He’s been positively reinforced throughout his life to do these and other dastardly deeds.

The ends justify the means when one is a Democrat.
