MEDIA CAUGHT IN ANOTHER SMEAR… Palin Did Not Misspeak on Paul Revere

by Jim Hoft

Friday, June 3, 2011

The state-run media is having fun today smearing Sarah Palin on her historical knowlege. Yesterday she told reporters Revere warned the British that the colonial militias were waiting for them.

Sarah Palin was right.

Paul Revere did in fact tell the British that the colonial militias, who had been alerted, were waiting for them...

I do not recall the Lame Stream Media busting on Hussein Obama for his 57 States comment, his hospital Corpseman comment, his breathalyzer comment, and this list goes on.
Gee, he is infallible while all the “R”’s are nincompoops.
I hate State-run, panty-waisted, Lame-Stream Media types.

The damage has been done now. The hordes of Sarah Palin haters are running with Lorch’s false report and spreading it as truth without themselves checking out the story.

The liberal sheeple who are dumbed down in the public schools are running with it.

I’m so sick and tired of these liberals, their lies and smears! The Lord said all liars are going to hell. Well, there’s a whole bunch of them going.

Yes all of them are very good. However you know what that means in the Republican party and mindset of many party sheep.. work against them.. spend money on party favorites.

Folks see my tag line.. look back on my posts before 2008. This may be our last chance to prevent the doom that will be another O candidacy and all the attended destruction to our Republic.

I’ve been saying it. It makes too much sense and it will really cause the left to come unglued. The thought of which makes me smile. ;-)

Your post at Legal Insurrection is plausible. At least you are not equivocating for her and admit she flubbed the answer up.
Though I'd think twice about juxtaposing her gaffes, or those of any candidate, with those of Obama's.
I wouldn't think that 'I'm Not Any Worse Than Obama' to be an effective campaign slogan.

Unglued

That is a perfect word for what will happen.

Darn shame too many on our side can't see it, even though it is so obvious.

This technique works well in exposing people who think they're more educated than they actually are. The trouble is, it tends to enrage the stubborn and does nothing to the shameless.

She's treating the MSM as the "enemedia." She'd better stick to it...

The joke is on the LSM.

Paul Revere did ride to warn outlying villages, where the people there rang bells and fired shots to awaken others to warn the British were coming.

When Paul Revere was captured by British scouts before he got to Concord, he did tell them that the people knew they were coming, and where arms and ammunition was at. As other messengers had warned the pople of Concord, they knew the British were coming and were already moving the arms, ammunition and supplies.

I think she was using her more detailed explanation (albeit a bit off-the-cuff rambling) of the “Who was Paul Revere?” question into a modern-day warning of our gun rights.

And after reading more of this history, I won’t be surprised if someone writes an article about “Sarah Palin - Today’s Paul Revere” (Trading in her horse for a motorhome, Palin crisscrosses the countryside warning of the government’s advances on seizing everything from our healthcare to our 2nd Amendment rights.....):

http://www.redroom.com/blog/steven-robert-travers/the-ride-of-paul-revere

Another blog from Dec. 2010 talking about the “warning of the taking of their arms”:

The colonists had a cache of weapons in Concord, 17 miles to the northwest. The weapons included muskets and cannon, musket balls and cartridges, hundreds of barrels of gunpowder, reams of cartridge paper, spades, axes, medicine chests, tents, hogsheads of flour, pork, beef, salt, boxes of candles, wooden spoons, dishes, canteens, casks of wine and raisins, and other war supplies. The great fear was that General Gage was getting closer to the supplies. He had spies out and about....

http://www.u-s-history.com/pages/h1261.html

Revere became suspicious in mid-April when he noticed that British landing craft were being drawn out of the water for repairs — a clear indication that something was afoot. On the 16th he made a trip to Concord, a key community because it was the temporary home of the Provincial Congress and also a storehouse for militia guns, powder, and shot. He warned the residents there that redcoats were likely to be dispatched in the near future to seize the town’s arms supply. Revere’s warning was taken to heart and the townspeople began to hide arms and valuables in barns, wells, and the neighboring swamps.

On his return home, Paul Revere met with Patriot leaders in Charlestown and agreed on a plan to provide notice about the route the British would take to reach Concord. This was a necessary precaution because there was considerable doubt that Revere or others would be able to get out of Boston at the crucial time.

Revere agreed to arrange for the placement of signal lanterns in the belfry of Old North Church where they could have been easily seen across the Charles River. If one lantern were displayed, the British would be advancing by land over the Boston Neck, then north and west to Concord. If two lanterns were hung, the redcoats would have chosen to cross the Charles by boat to Cambridge, then west to their target.

The former route was unlikely because the soldiers would be clearly visible marching down the Neck, eliminating any element of surprise. The latter plan offered opportunities for concealing movement under cover of darkness and was five miles shorter than the alternative.

Revere resumed his activities in Boston, but in the early evening of April 18, he received word from a stable boy that the British were preparing boats for crossing the Charles. In short order, two other sources confirmed the initial report.

Unfortunately, the joke is not on the LSM. A lie can travel half way around the world while the Truth is putting its shoes on.

The local ABC Affiliate in Los Angeles is covering the story talking about Palin’s gaffe caught on video.

Facts are meaningless. Just look how Weiner is going to get out of his Twitter problem without a scratch while we lose a House Seat in New York because our guy took his shirt off.

The deck is stacked and our side is screwed over once again.

Do you remember the first press conference Obama held right after he was elected? He was asked by some female reporter if he’d spoken to any past Presidents, and the dope responded by saying that he’d obviously spoken to Bill Clinton, but in regards to other past Presidents he “didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about doing any seances.” He ended up having to call Mrs. Reagan and apologize for making that comment.

Meanwhile - multiple Conservatives - even on this silly thread - have actual read Hackett’s book on the topic.

Lorch should be fired - the history is not in question.
