Howard Dean, the former Democratic National Committee chairman who helped Democrats capture the White House in 2008, warns that Sarah Palin could defeat President Obama in 2012.
Dean says his fellow Democrats should beware of inside-the-Beltway conventional wisdom that Obama would crush Palin in a general-election contest next year.
I think she could win, Dean told The Hill in an interview Friday. She wouldnt be my first choice if I were a Republican but I think she could win.

Something the Democrats saw right from the beginning......they have always known she can defeat Obama and that’s why they come against her ruthlessly.
NO NEWT, NO TIM AND HELL NO, MITT!
SARAH, SARAH, AND ONLY SARAH’S ALL THAT’S GONNA FIT!
Hehe heh, tell it to Krauthammer Howie you tool!
LOL, paging capt obvious.
According to Krauthammer, it’s NOT Sarah’s turn to run, it’s Romney’s turn because he is the white Obama so of course elitist Republicans love Romney, reminds them of the guy they voted for
Dammit, one of them is starting to think.
As usual Dean opens his mouth and Dems cringe. Why? He tells the truths they don’t want spoken.
Run Sarah Run!
Sarah’s already got my vote - she just needs what - 60 million more?
There you have it.
Since he’s not in the inner circle anymore, Democrats can even better avoid the question of whether they should be listening to informed opinions versus listening to the cultivated yes-men they’re surrounded by.
From his screaming lips to G-d’s ears!
Krauthammer is a RINO, just like Romney. Of course he doesn’t want Sarah to run, and he hopes everyone (including Sarah) will listen. We won’t.
Run Sarah Run!!
Our time and our money are all yours.
I remember when people on FR were rooting for Obama because they thought he couldn’t possibly win, and they figured Hillary was the dangerous one.
At the time I was so concerned - I knew Obama could win, as the MSM had been relentlessly attacking republicans and I knew the fact that he was black would make them absolute slobber.
The MSM elected Obama. He was an incompetant, self absorbed do nothing but they put him in. Sarah won’t have that advantage, but people are seeing the MSM really deceived them with the empty one.
I don’t think Dean is lying here. I think he really realizes her power.
Yes, but would he run?
All of a sudden he has turned from idiot to genius?
“Dammit, one of them is starting to think.”
I wouldn’t put money on that. I’m sure the reason he said it is that he thinks he’d be a better candidate than Obama.
59,999,999 more and counting.
And mine as well.....only 59,999,998 to go!
Yeah, this stuff is beginning to give me the creeps. What’s up with these guys?
I believe my cat could beat Obama in ‘12.
*yawn* So could Elmer Fudd

Sarah Palin is a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN
Barry Soetoro aka Barack Hussein Obama isn't!
Yes, he would be.
She was outpolling Ohamas 3% in less than three weeks in 2008...until McCain rushed back in full support of the TARP bill which we all wanted destroyed.
The MSM knows this even if the crackheads in the party don’t.
“All of a sudden he has turned from idiot to genius?”
I said, “Starting to think”. I did not say, ‘genius’. I do not regard “starting to think” as equivalent to genius. An independent thought however, did make its slow and no doubt difficult way through his skull. That is in itself a truly remarkable event, and one which could be a matter of concern at some point if the trend continues.
“Yeah, this stuff is beginning to give me the creeps. Whats up with these guys?”
A theory here. The economy is beginning to affect everyone. Most people are having to cut back somewhere. Perhaps they are not able to afford the same quantity or quality of drugs, and sobriety is beginning to make inroads? Just speculation.
Would that it were true that he is a do nothing. It may be too late to recover from the regulatory Czars and commissions he has installed.
The first clue of who they most fear... is who they persecute with fervor. She is smarter than they and won’t play their game.
Sarah Palin [I] vs Romney [R] vs FBI investigated obama [c]..
Sarah doesn’t need 60M votes.
... she has been destroyed by the mediactras. So had Reagan, FRiend.
A ham sandwich if Obama could fix one could beat him like a drum.
Dean might as well have said any “CONSERVITIVE” can beat Obama. The people that are paying attention are mad as hell and they are not going to take it any more. Mittens would be the easiest for Zero to beat since Mittens has signed on to MANY of Zero’s key platform issues.
Sounds like you are willing to let the media choose your candidate. Any candidate that the media does not try to destroy is not worth voting for in my opinion.
Howie must be back on his meds.....
I,d say so:
House has no value, interest on savings near zero, no job to be found. I think tens of millions are in this situation.
No hope but plenty of change.

“Sounds like you are willing to let the media choose your candidate. Any candidate that the media does not try to destroy is not worth voting for in my opinion. “
Ticket to defeat my friend.
LOL... you are so right on this.
Under no circumstances will I vote for Romney. I’ll stay home.
Of course living in Maryland, there is no point in voting during the general... but that’s beside the point.
Obama will only get votes from welfare people and illegals and unioized public service employees. Good grief that may be 60 million! Anyone have a guess how many?
Yyyarrrrreuuuuugggghhhh... You betcha.
You have to deep into the Republican lineup to find someone who cannot beat DumBO. It is just surprising the Bolshies don’t try to make that person the front runner.
Here's his key point:
my view is if you get the nomination of a major party, you can win the presidency, I dont care what people write about you inside the Beltway, Dean said.
He's right. People living on government checks don't see the big picture. It's a contest of aspirations -- but to win it, you must be in the ring.
Thank goodness, Palin is no longer hobbled by the image making of McCain's campaign.
Please do not give the doctor any more credit than he deserves.
I know how you feel. I look at it this way: at least I'm contributing to the historial database as the opposition.
