According to the May Nielson ratings, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart beat the entire Fox News network in terms of total viewers. Stewart averaged 2.3 million viewers, while the Fox News prime time and day time line up averaged 1.85 million viewers.

According to Comedy Central, The Daily Show is dominant in its time slot,

For the month of May 2011, “The Daily Show” averaged 2.3 million total viewers and a 1.2 P18-49 rating. Versus May 2010, “The Daily Show” grew an astounding +19% in total viewers, with incredible double-digit ratings growth across all key demos including P18-49 (up +21%), P18-34 (+22%), P18-24 (+21%), M18-34 (+18%) and M18-24 (+21%).

“The Daily Show’s” 1.344 million P18-49 viewers led all late night talk shows in the demo for the month and, with a 2011 YTD average of 1.25 million P18-49 viewers, “The Daily Show” trails only “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” (1.27 million P18-49 viewers) in the benchmark demographic for the calendar year crown.

This is good news. The popularity will go straight to Stewart's head and he'll self-destruct. He has no talent and he knows it. I've never laughed at anything I've heard from this no-talent bum.

Big deal, Faux News, is terrible, even if they may be not quite as liberal as the other news networks.

Jon Stewart’s Ratings Are Now Higher Than All Of Fox News

Good news for him. For America it's indicative that no one wants to take any news of the obama regime seriously, it's too depressing.

I agree. I don’t know why they bury RedEye. I think it could be very good against Stewart.

"According to the May Nielson ratings"

Yeah, but it's the MAY ratings, the election was back in NOVEMBER, and even the hard-core political junkies have lawns to mow, gardens to plant and baseball games to watch. Politics ia an AUTUMN sport!

Meanwhile, Stewart has been blessed by a Member of Congress tweeting photos of his member all over the internet.

Of course his numbers are higher!

As has been mentioned several times before, why not compare Stewart’s ratings to CNN or MSNBC.

They’re in the same category: Comedy

This comparison is screwy and the source is suspect. How do you compare an “average” of many shows to one particular show? Most of Fox’s daytime line up is non-descript anyway.

Advertisers do not look at the total number of viewers, but instead look at the number of viewers in the 18-49 demographic.

If you are older than 49 you are a less desirable viewer.

I don’t think the Nielson ratings had anything to do with this bull****. Comedy Central has taken Nielson’s numbers and manipulated the numbers to come up with this crap. This article is commie lib bogus.

FOX News has only itself to blame. They have run away from their television audience base and tried to reach out for the liberals who watch CNN and MSNBC.

I can’t watch BOR anymore because he is an apologist for Obama. Hannity is a puppet for the RINOs. The only guy worth watching is Glen Beck and they essentially chased him off.

Roger Ailes has screwed the pooch this time.

The daily show is on when Fox goes into rebroadcasting. 10:00CST is a rerun of Hannity. So a fair compaison would be stewart vs a rerun of Hannity.

Jon Stewart is nothing more than a jester for moronic dupes who will chortle their liberties away. Fox News is becoming a joke in its own right. Not much to solidly postulate here.

"PoloticsUSA"? Politics for the polo class?

Comparing Comedy Central's highest rated show with the average number of FNC viewers?

Comedy Central is also a cable network, available in slightly fewer homes than Fox News.

It seems like it is pretty well known that Fox News has higher ratings across the board than CNN or MSNBC, why bother comparing to them?

"I’ve written on other ratings thread like this that FOX should put RedEye head-to-head with these late night talk/fake news channel line ups"
I wholeheartedly agree. It's the only thing on TV that I'm anxious to watch anymore. I just hope they wouldn't water it down if they gave it a prime spot.

It is a big deal when you have minds full of mush believing what that degenerate says. It is how far we’ve fallen as a nation.

Any piece of trash that would get on national t.v. and say (somewhat paraphrasing here) ‘made me C__ like an elephant’ should be taken out and have his tongue removed. And yet we have citizens eating up his vileness and thinks it all is a big joke.
