The U.S. Supreme Court today refused to review a California policy that allows illegal immigrants to pay the same in-state tuition to public universities as other state residents.
Without comment, the high court let stand a California Supreme Court ruling in November that unanimously rejected a challenge to the policy. The state Supreme Court concluded that a 2001 law that allows in-state tuition aid to undocumented students does not run afoul of federal immigration laws restricting public education benefits to illegal immigrants.

One more pebble on the side of AZ SB1070. The Court would look a bit ridiculous preventing a State from enacting its sovereign laws to destroy itself and refusing to let a state pass laws to insure it’s very survival.
Of course, when this is pointed out to Lefturds, the reception will not be warm.

If California wants to do this, it is a STATE issue and they have the right to.
But any and all Federal Funding should be withheld.
as maddening as it is, what a particular state wants to charge various students for tuition at it’s colleges is probably not a Federal issue.
Don’t the illegal aliens have to prove they were residents of the state for x number of years before qualifying for in-state tuition?
That’s the way Arkansas’s law is. If that’s the case, then it really isn’t unfair to residents of other states,
If you’re not going to deport them, then you need to treat them the same as everyone else. The real question is why weren’t they deported long before they met the in-state eligibility requirements? And why aren’t they deported now.
I’m not at all in favor of amnesty, but neither do I want a second class citizenry that is allowed to live here, but that can’t vote and can’t educate their kids.
Not to worry. Kalifornia continues to sow the seeds of its own demise. Here we have an economically broken state piling on more spending at the time its already over taxed tax base continues to shrink.

As much as I disagree with such an egregious law, the SCOTUS seems to have understood this to be a state matter. It’s good to see that the court finds something the Feds shouldn’t be involved in. Cold comfort.
High school records and graduation. Schools can't deny admittance to illegals, so they built a school academic record like anyone else.

Since they are not checking citizenship in schools, all they have to show is their transcripts from a in state school.
I think this law is an end run around the requirement to show citizenship. If they did not allow illegals the same rights as legal in state students they would then have to have a way to check citizenship. They do not want to do this so the easy way out is ignore citizenship and base it on residency (which is where the school transcripts come into play). For liberals it is a win win solution. For the California taxpayers it is a lose lose, but liberals never care about other people's money

SCOTUS - Agreeing to non US "law" - Whenever possible.
SCOTUS - Covering up a coup d'etat - As needed.
SCOTUS - Selling out the American people - Anytime for the DNC, SEIU, UN or EU.
SCOTUS - Systematic bowing to EU or UN - ohh la la....
SCOTUS - Protecting and Defending the US Constitution - Not so much
They aren't totally undocumented. Only their citizenship is undocumented.
They can show that they've been in the public school system for 5 years. They can show that they've been committing identity theft and using someone elses social security number to work at a local job for 5 years. They can show they got a mortgage from bank of America and own a home and have four other families renting from them in that home. lol

Agreed. If California wants to destroy itself, SCOTUS should not interfere.
I think it's time to repel an invasion.
Now, about in-state tuition ~ the solution to the whole situation is to ABOLISH IN STATE TUITION. Just get rid of it.
