I think it’s because this particular thing can’t be spun as “cool” or the actions of a “loveable rogue.”
It was dorky, stupid, and perverted, and done by a gawky nerd who looks like the offspring of Screech from “Saved by the Bell” and Squidward from “Spongebob Squarepants.”
And he wasn’t “slick” in his refutations, like Clinton. He didn’t make the press fawn and admire him. He insulted them and called them “jackasses.”

As as been said before, the left doesn’t have ethics-just tactics.
The last election has them running scared, and he's become a liability. Now he's worth more for PR (look how ethical we are!) if the crucify him. It's a safe bet his seat will get picked up by another Dem.
Also, don't discount Huma's relationship with Hillary, and Hillary's ability to pull strings. Huma can get a fat divorce settlement and go back to Hillary.

I think the Dems are going after Weiner b/c Omoslem has declared Weiner to be “JEW NON GRATA.”
Omoslem hates Israel, and I believe Weiner (in addition to being an internet pervert and crazy to be sending out those photos) is very pro-Israel.
Try to imagine Weiner as a black man, or as a Moslem. The Rats wouldn’t lower the boom like this. They’d hold a “Halal Summit” to “foster accord.”
