Been very hot and dry in the south. Going home to Mississippi for a visit in a couple of weeks. Not looking forward to the heat.

“Not since 1973 has Mauna Kea received so much snow in June.”

I was in Hawaii, on Oahu, from 1972-1974, at the USCG RADSTA, NMO, and one of my first trips to Waikiki shocked me when I saw cars driving around with ski racks on the back of some vehicles.

It wasn't til later that I learned about Mauan Kea and the snow.

I do remember it being cooler than normal. This meant more rain and more mushrooms.

Isn’t Mauna Kea on the big island? Why would you see ski racks on Oahu?

Never been to Hawaii though it could be a stopover to change flights between Alaska and Australia.

Everything is a sign of warming. There is not one weather condition anywhere that does not prove global warming. It’s all man-bear-pig’s doing.
