Weiner Told Porn Star to Lie, Offered PR Help
TMZ ^ | 6/7/2011 | TMZ Staff

Congressman Anthony Weiner instructed one of his Internet women how to lie about their relationship ... and even offered PR help from his team, which could create major legal issues for him ... TMZ has learned.

Weiner and former porn star Ginger Lee exchanged scores of sexual emails over a long period of time.  When the underwear scandal broke on May 28, Lee began receiving calls from the media, and Weiner was more than happy to help her control the situation ... by lying.

On June 2, Weiner emailed Lee, "Do you need to talk to a professional PR type person to give u advice?  I can have someone on my team call. [Yeah, my team is doing great. Ugh]."

It's unclear if Weiner's PR team is from his Congressional staff.  If so, Weiner could run afoul of House Ethics Rules as well as the law.

Weiner put on a full court press, urging Lee to lie about their relationship.  On June 1, he emailed her:  "The key is to have a short, thought out statement that tackles the top line questions and then refer people back to it.  Have a couple of iterations of: 'This is silly.  Like so many others, I follow Rep. Weiner on Twitter.  I don't know him and have never met him. He briefly followed me and sent me a dm saying thank you for the follow.  That's it.'"

Weiner suggested a nice touch -- some good ol' Southern charm: "And then maybe insert some y'alls in there."

On June 2, Weiner sent Lee a proposed statement she could give to the press:  "I have nothing to do with the situation involving Rep Weiner.  I follow his twitter feed.  And for a brief time he followed me.  Much has been made of the fact that I have posted about my admiration for Rep Weiner and his politics.  All I can say about that is that I'm a fan of his.  Rep. Weiner sent me one short direct message thanking me for following him.  I have never met Rep. Weiner and he has never sent me anything innappopriate (sic) ..."

Weiner then asked Lee directly, "How's it [the proposed statement] feel?"

The irony is, if the traditional media would just report the facts- like they are supposed to- they wouldn’t have the massively declining viewership/readership numbers they are experiencing.

Does he think sounding like Paula Deen will endear a porn star to middle America, busy clinging to its guns and religion?”

It worked for John Edwards.

I want you to listen to me. I'm going to say this again: I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.

I never told anybody to lie, not a single time; never.

How is he going to live? His only skill is being a lying, obnoxious parasite. He'd starve outside of politics.

CNN will give him a gig.

I hope there's a p.o'ed husband, boyfriend or brother out there who breaks his huge schnozz, blacks both his eyes and takes out a tooth or two for good measure.

It would server him right, but it's way better than he deserves.

Perhaps Huma had enough and is ready to make a move.

I know conservatives who have no clue who the newlywed’s wife is.

To me, the fact that at one time he suggested that his Twitter account being “hacked” could be the “tip of the spear of a terrorist attack”, should be enough to have him arrested. I mean think about it. A United States congressman suggesting that he, a member of the house of representatives, might be under a cyber terrorist attack, simply to cover his embarrassing sexual escapades. The implications of him doing that are mind boggling.

I might be wrong but I think this scandal seriously undermines Congressman Weiner as a Democrat “attack dog”. I can't imagine anyone taking him seriously when he attempts his next anti-conservative rant. Therefore, unless actual criminality comes to light I say, “Let him stay on.” Of course, these are precisely the reasons that the Democrats will bite the bullet & force him out. Let's face it, unless your name is "Kennedy" or "Clinton" you're not getting a pass on this.

It always surprises me that guys like Cong. Weiner 'survived' this long. He's an annoying little pr*ck who is just begging for a beat-down.

How strange that Weiners words in his speech mirrored Pelosis statement yesterday. They have circled the wagons. Funny thing is that more of what he has done will be leaking out and we’ll see just how long Pelosi will stand by the perv when she feels politically threatened by her defense of this slimeball. He’s tainted goods and po;itical power speaks louder than friendship.

Hmmmm.....kinda like: “If I were giving a speech to 45,000 people and someone threw a pie.....”

LOL...this guy is a real piece of work.

The House Ethics panel should consider that Weiner is now prone to blackmail. There's now "adverse information" against Weiner that has not been made public. Breitbart claims he still has a tide of scum, including a "beyond beyond lewd" pic of the Rep., which theoretically could be used to influence Weiner's vote.

I don't think Weiner's constituents would care to be represented by the whims of our hero, Andrew Breitbart.

I hadn't heard this before. He should be drummed out of town over this comment alone.
