I had people on Facebook “liking” articles someone else put up about how the movie wasn’t making much money. I said to them, “have you actually read the book or seen the movie?” I also said that while liberals would object to Rand putting down big-statism, she also was arguing for individual liberties, and the rights of creative artists not to be interfered with (oh, that book you wrote? Under the Equalization of Opportunity Act, it will be limited to 10,000 copies.) And that Rand was a success story who came to America from Soviet Russia and embraced our freedom and
capitalism.

She is anti-racist, anti-Nazi, anti-socialist—and when I
told a woman about Dagny Taggart’s character, via email,
she said, “I hadn’t really heard much about the book or Ayn Rand, but you make it sound like this character is a strong
woman who won’t be domineered. I’m interested.”

So a bunch of people who know nothing about the book or Rand herself, joined on Facebook to denounce her? Liberals never cease to amaze me
