Statement on Opie & Anthony’s Illicit Capture and Release of Photograph
Big Government ^ | June 8, 2011 | Andrew Breitbart

Posted on 06/08/2011 1:50:42 PM PDT by COUNTrecount

Earlier today, a photograph resembling one that I had withheld from publication in the Weinergate saga was released without my knowledge or permission.

Prior to the publication of our story on BigGovernment.com and BigJournalism.com this past Monday morning, it was necessary to show the pictures I had received from our source to several news producers, including several at major news networks, to prove that the additional material I described really did exist, which some have continued to doubt.

This morning, I showed a photograph, which our source claims Weiner sent her, to radio hosts “Opie and Anthony” of the Sirius XM radio network on my mobile device. Somehow, without my knowledge or permission, apparently a picture was taken of my mobile device, and subsequently published by Opie (Gregg Hughes) on Twitter.

His co-host, Anthony (Anthony Cumia), stated today:

“In regards to the photo of Anthony Weiner that was leaked by members of The Opie And Anthony show on 6/8, I want to make it clear that Andrew Breitbart had no knowledge that this photo was being made public. A phone with the photo was being displayed and a camera in the studio caught it. It was then uploaded to twitter [sic], again, without Andrew Breitbarts [sic] knowledge.”

I regret that this occurred.

I disagree that Breitbart looks bad. Opie & Anthony captured the pic on video and posted a still capture of the photo without Breitbart's consent or knowledge. The MSM hates Breitbart anyway, and if this explicit picture brings down Weiner, too bad.

Boo hoo for Anthony Weiner--if you take gross pics of your stiff penis and post it on Twitter, chances are it will become public knowledge.

Couldn't happen to a nicer Comrade than Weiner. Gun owners and lovers of freedom everywhere should rejoice that this dangerous man is going down in flames!

By the way, this story was on HuffPo earlier (I troll the evil sites to see what the enemy is thinking) but FR wouldn't let me post from HuffPo. Let the schadenfreude begin!

I have enough trouble looking at his face. Think I'll pass on his privates.

“I am sick and tired of our side having to “play fair” and “take the high road”. Just damn, don’t you people know we are in a war? I was hoping Breitbart was lying when he said he wouldn’t release the X-rated pics, and I hope he’s lying now when he says it was a mistake.”

Agree 100%. Breitbart completely humiliated one of the worst lib loudmouths around, and probably destroyed Weiner’s career to boot. Good for Breitbart. As if he didn’t hear Opie and Anthony’s camera.

yes- St Patricks Catherdral and they got fired- that aside they are actually pretty funny and Anthony is a big conservative- was outspoken against obama in 2008....

Lotta scumbags are pretty funny. I heard that Uday Hussein was a lot of fun to hang out with, as long as he didn't decide to feed you to his pet alligators.

Of course they're "kind of funny." You don't get a radio show in a major market without being very entertaining. I have no doubt that they can be hysterical.

They're scumbags, though. Breitbart's associated himself with them and their ways. When he denies knowledge of their effort to capture an image of his phone's display screen from a distance (I have a telephoto lens that could easily capture an image of that nature from a distance of 30 feet, if not more), we've got to wonder. We can picture them saying, "hey, Andy, mind holding that screen just a little bit more horizontal for us. He heh. Yuk yuk." and then Breitbart says "Huh? Oh. He heh. You mean like this? Yeah, sure. Yuk yuk yuk."

OK. How ‘bout a “major News publication” that’s constantly touting its adherence to “journalistic standards”? At least that way we could hang them by their “standards” if they went public. Radio hosts like “Opie & Anthony” live for these kinds of events. What would anyone expect them to do by release?

Breibart is either very stupid (doubtful), or he’s using the other side’s tactics. The latter worries me.

Opis and Anthony? Yeah. Breitbart, you really owed it to those great newsmen to show them the photo.

Please.

Why do smart people (Breitbart) do STUPID things? The whole thing was a victory, then he does this. Grrrrrrr.

This reflects VERY badly on Mr Breitbart after what appeared to be a very sincere oath to not reveal this pic. A man has only his good name. Mr Breitbart will have an uphill battle against the MSM who SAVAGE him( and rightly so) for this action.

You are following Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals #5, I see: "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules."

You are so dumb you don't even realize it.

Monkey see, monkey do.

Meanwhile, while we "follow the rules," the Left finishes us off.

Yeap, seems he was judged in a higher court.

The man and woman who allegedly had sex in the landmark church were also charged. Before he was to appear in court last month, Brian Florence, 38, died at his home in Alexandria, Va. His girlfriend, Loretta Lynn Harper, 36, was expected to plead guilty to a minor charge and avoid jail time, their lawyer, Maranda Fritz, said.

AB said he had no intention of making the picture public. He did not promise that no one would see it or that it would not ever become public. People act like he had the only copy of this pic. That is just not true. There are multiple copies floating around and one was going to get out eventually.

So is anyone sorry for Weiner? It is my position that anytime you focus a camera on your naked penis and snap the picture, that picture will eventually be shown to the world. But it will only be when that picture is associated with a scandal and you are a person of power or notoriety that the world will pay attention.

Picture confirms what I suspected; Weiner is just a little prick.

Let the press go after him. It keeps the story out there. Hell, Weiner might come out and say, "That's not my package. Mine's bigger."

Andrew may just be warming up. I hope so. I hope he's as mean and dishonest an SOB as Weiner and the rest of the dems.

All you "Well, if we have do win that way, I'd rather lose" people can sit on your hands and watch.

Meanwhile, while we "follow the rules," the Left finishes us off.

Breitbart had already won everything. He got an on-air apology by the awful Weiner, which was the equivalent of getting Yassir Arafat to utter the word "Israel" on international television.

He had won the whole situation, and done it playing by the rules.. Now the victory is tainted, and the MSM will never let it be forgotten.

The only argument that makes the least sense is that he knows the MSM hates him, will do anything to discredit him (as they did in the Sherrod case), and that they deserve not an inch in terms of "following the rules." I don't agree with that, and I don't think it will work out well in the long run, but that does make a sort -- a sort -- of sense to me.

He also loses the leverage he claimed to have to keep Weiner, or other communists in the U.S. Congress, from coming after him or the women with whom Weiner carried on. That could be a significant error, in the long run. We'll have to see.

It may be relevant, or not, but Savage said yesterday that he found the “holding of other photos” by Breitbart morally objectionable since it smelled like blackmail. Got me to thinking if there might have been certain legal ramifications that also might be defused by “accidently” releasing the photo basically into the public domain. Grist for the conspiracy crowd.

I’d like Weiner to stay, as the best campaign ad for Republicans ever.
