Gadhafi loyalists launch new push against Misrata

Libyan kids help refurbish weapons

Forces loyal to embattled Libyan strongman Moammar Gadhafi launched a new attack on the rebel-held city of Misrata on Wednesday, with anti-government forces reporting intense shelling from three sides of the city.

Thousands of government troops attacked around 6 a.m. (11 p.m. Tuesday ET), with 13 rebels reported dead by evening. Mohamed Mokhtar, a rebel fighter wounded in Wednesday's fighting, accused government troops of infiltrating rebel lines in cars bearing rebel flags.

Dr. Khaled Abu Falgha, a spokesman for Misrata's Hekma hospital, said it was the bloodiest day in a week in the besieged city. More than 1,000 people are believed to have been killed since the fighting began there in February, including 686 registered residents of the city, he said.

Rebel fighters returning from the front lines reported that their defenses were holding up under the onslaught, however.

NATO is not supposed to be there as it is against the charter.
Innocent people dying all the time and not a peep from the anti war hypocrites.
To top it off we are helping radical muslims.

and WHERE IS THE GOP?
Of course we can’t on the soros media as they are all corrupt now

You're obviously not paying attention. The House just passed a bill affirming Obama did not seek or get their approval for the Libyan adventure. It had broad bipartisan support.

They gave him two more weeks to make his case but at least they threw down the gauntlet.

Intense Shelling....

WTF? Over. You mean NATO in all its combined might and glory and double sonic planes cannot take out plain old-fashioned artillery pieces? The NATO people had better get some choppers in there. And some of our low, slow drones.

This would also be a job for the New Jersey ... if there were still a New Jersey in these Buck Rogers war scenarios.

“They gave him two more weeks to make his case but at least they threw down the gauntlet. “

Giving a CiC two weeks to stop waging a war that has been going on for 3 months and that never was voted on by Congress is NOT “throwing down the gauntlet”! BUCK UP!

they should have demanded it be stopped now not their cowardly crap again.

The law states he has to get a congressional vote, the GOP stayed mostly silent and never did what they are supposed.

The establishment elitist GOP are nothing but cowards to the left.

hell we should not even be there, NATO is in violation of their own accord and congress should have put a stop to this weeks ago but of course the media stay slent, the GOP are mostly silent and the few on the right will try and defend all of this again.

Must be nice to be a snotty nosed elitist establishment official where law and rules do not apply and where they only have ot say the right things every now and again to get their power

I thought all NATO was supposed to do is to make sure that the Loyalists do not get to fly their planes and helicopters to kill "innocent civilians"?

I was under NATO control for a few years and the charter states that NATO only operates when attacked, no one was attacked, and within their area which Libya is not.

Right now we have obama going to Rio, making war with no congressional approval and now NATO and including us are bombing which in turn kills innocent people and the hypocrisy form the left over this is disgusting.

They stayed silent over kosovo and now this but of course when a lefty pres goes to war it is all good and the media which is paid off by soros stays silent and the left go back in their shadows planning their next move against America and the right

Interesting that so many of the Libyan people are so willing to go to the wall for an “oppressive regime”...

And, And, And they have to wait to see what the mood of the people is before they act. “Oh, the right thing to do would be demand a stop to this illegal war, but we have to wait for the polls before we...pretend to act.”

nail on head, the GOP wait to see what is popular in the media not what is popular with us normal folk and then they follow.

prime example the homosexual agenda, it is popular in the media but it is not what the majority want so therefore they just shut up about it.

They should be attacking obama over Libya but do not, they should be going much harder on the economy and his vacations plus his wife saying what we should eat and how much while she stuffs her face with goodies

foreign policy is a joke, we attack Libya and gives the order while down in Rio with his wife , kids and MIL and her friend and then call that a working trip.

He then writes a letter saying he does not need a congressional vote , er you frigging do obama and you GOP are cowards.

We have shunned our best allies the UK and Israel over and over while he warms up to nations who hate us and want us to be weaker while places he backed like Egypt form the NAZI party and the Soros media shut the hell up even when one of their own nearly get raped by a pack of savages.

His whole policy has failed, the economy is in ruins, debt out of control and they have no plan but to attack other plans.
Obamacare has been forgotten it seems.

the only thing he has been doing well is going on vacations and campaigning as his wife has and all the GOP can do is to attack for the most part other republicans and back RINO’S and elitist establishment crap like Pawlenty, Rudy etc.

Thanks MinorityRepublican.

The sooner the jihadists win, the sooner they have to buckle down and get to work.

So, they’re going to take their time, and/or let foreigners do their fighting for them.

And complain that they haven’t been given enough money etc. Again.
