SWAT team launch dawn raid on family home to collect unpaid student loans [O's Dept of Education]
The Daily Mail ^ | June 8, 2011

A father was dragged from his home and handcuffed in front of his children by a SWAT team looking for his estranged wife - to collect her unpaid student loans.

A stunned Kenneth Wright had his front door kicked in by the raiding party at 6 am yesterday before being dragged onto his front porch, handcuffed and led to a police car with his three children.

He says he was then detained for six hours while officers looked for his wife - who no longer lives at the house.

Mr Wright was later told by Stockton police that the order to send in the SWAT team came from The U.S. Department of Education who were looking for his estranged wife to collect defaulted loan payments.

Speaking to ABC News 10, a visibly shaken Mr Wright described what happened when he was woken by a banging on his front door.

He said: 'I look out of my window and I see 15 police officers.

Dressed in his boxer shorts, Mr Wright says he rushed downstairs and was about to open the door when it was kicked open.

An officer then grabbed him by the neck before dragging him out onto the front lawn.

His 3, 7, and 11-year-old children were also removed by officers and put in a waiting police car.

'He had his knee on my back and I had no idea why they were there,' Mr Wright said.

'They put me in handcuffs in that hot patrol car for six hours, traumatising my kids.'

Mr Wrights three children, who were also led to the car with him

"One should not be living in such a way as to have one's door kicked in."

No, one shouldn't; but since these knuckleheads frequently can't seem to read addresses correctly, you could be Mother Theresa and still have your door kicked in... and your dog shot... and your fish stomped.

Correct, the GOP could have stopped it....but who knows, maybe they initiated it. I’ll have to dig into it more, to see the circumstances....but I’m afraid I will be very disappointed. Also, my search gave me a hit on similar powers being given to the Dept of Energy...I didn’t even want to read the details, though.

I was under the impression that the FBI was the agency that investigated Feredal crimes. But, I suppose, like everything else when we operated under the Constitutional restraints, that was then, this is now. And the sheep said....

Where are our usual bootlickers today - usually they fawn all over the out of control police. maybe this is too much even for cop lovers?

More importantly, where are the self-proclaimed Constitutionalists?

I agree, who is scrutinizing these agencies and their paramilitary style collections operations?

For a student loan? Really?

I recall an article from some time past stating the Department of Education purchased several shotguns.... I now see why.

I think they have radically deviated from any semblance of their proper role.

"This man's gonna be rich if true."

That was my first impression. That, and a firmer conviction that the Federal Government is officially out of control.

The days of "Officer Friendly" seem to be long gone.

One of Holder’s (my people).

Uh, no. The guy was taking care of his kids, and probably had a job. He wasn't one of "Holder's people."

Lawyers, juries, and groups like Oath Keepers are going top get the jack boot crowd under control. After all, they are a resource awaiting harvest.

In all seriousness - what practical limits on behaviour do you see the government - central government (they have ceased to be federal) - see on their power here?

I suppose they could have taken him to a secret prison - but really - what would they gain there? The citizen wasn’t valuable for information.

How demented does a person need to be to see any relation at al lbetween the Constitutions intent - and this action?

Looks like it was`nt about an unpaid loan, after all. And it does`nt look like it was a SWAT team. But by this time tommorrow there will be 10 more posts that a SWAT team roughed up this guy and his kids over an unpaid loan.

I have to wonder about the mentality of those “officers”.

In another place and time, they’d have been pushing people into cattle cars. Just following orders you know.
/// sadly, a good point. i admire Oathkeepers, and others who serve our country. but i fear if it comes to it, they might be outnumbered by the type you speak of.

The details of this story seem to be changing, but a salient point nonetheless.

The “details” change - but the core issue remains.

These “officers” or whatever they are - need to be fired - for cause. Even if that cause is wasting time, and launching an assault when the target isn’t there.

What happens to YOU when you waste 20 man days on a boondoggle? And that doesn’t include the assault and idiocy.

It appears they found NOTHING?
