Obama was expected to sign an executive order Thursday establishing the White House Rural Council and naming Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, of Iowa, to be its chairman.

Buying Iowa Caucus votes already. So obvious, so boring ...
Run by his private army of brown shirts.
I’m sure this will create a couple hundred well paid jobs for Democrats to parcel out in advance of 2012.
Well done Baraq!
Just in time for some good ol’ country folk votes.
Trying to convert the bitter clingers?
Yeah, he’ll improve the quality of life of rural folks by resettling them to the cities where they can be watched more efficiently.
He and his organizers can stay the hell away from here.
Bambi is trying to figure out a way to keep rural companies in blue states funded so they don’t take operations overseas.
Why doesn’t he send rain to drought-decimated Texas or dry weather to the water-logged Mid-West while he’s at it? He actually thinks these worthless commissions are fooling voters into thinking he’s doing something about the HORRIBLE economy all over the U.S. Next November, he’ll see that it’s very hard to fool rural folks these days.
We’re from the gubmint, and we’re here to help.
Oh great...another ‘study group’ paid for with our tax dollars! None of his other special study groups have done a damn thing! I am so sick of this crap I could scream!!
oh good. another panel. who will hussein anoint has his farm czar?
this guy is a friggin’ hack.
I live in live in a rural area of the U.S. and to help with my quality of life, all you have to do is stay out of my life and/or drop dead. Today, that’s your choice.
cut their taxes ya mope.
We live so far out in the country that if you go farther, you are heading back to town. The only way this jug eared field hand can improve my quality of life is to get the hell out of it.
Does anyone believe this idiocy at this point? If so, should they be allowed to vote????

Hey Zero - don’t do me any favors, okay??
Best thing to do with rural areas...leave us alone.
We do have over 50,000 black farmers, I’m told.
Leave us alone and stop changing laws, rules, taxes, etc. etc. Go screw up some other country.
Its always been hard to fool rural folks. All they’ll do is realize that we ignore the cute little mandates they issue from Washington and continue to do as we please.
The White Crib is bitterly clinging to old-school Chicago buy-en-off-with gubmint-programs politics, trying to attract the “bitter clingers” and their G*d and Guns. When will Barry show up in the sticks asking, a la John F’n Kerry (who served in Viet Nam, “Where can I get me a huntin’ license?”
Bam needs to leave rural areas alone. My life is just peachy and I don’t need anymore of his interference.
They best stay the hell away from this rural Iowan, too (former michigander, of course) :)
Stay in town, CityBoy. We’ll let ya know if we need anything.
Oh, and don’t hold your breath.
“We’re going to improve your umm quality of life. All you need to do is register and ummm wear this Rural-American patch on your shirt so we can umm properly resettle you in a place where there is umm work.”
Improve our quality of life? Arrogant SOB.
I guess their first order of business will be to determine how many and what size SWAT teams to have. It seems like the governments answer to every problem.
I live in rural AZ, right on the Mexico border, if the government wants to really help us rural folk, CLOSE THE D*** BORDER.
Oh !! Goody !! Do this mean us white farm folk get a $50K government check too ??? >PS
Sounds like stalins ukrraine policy.
Id say its a little more then 60 million.
In the immortal words of John Galt: “Get the hell out my way.”
I live in Wisconsin and there are plenty of rural folks who voted for Obama.
nice. looks like largemouth country to me.
What lake is it? ( I am vaguely familiar with your neck of the woods..as you may recall....) I think we were born in the same (former) hospital...
Expect more al Fuqra compounds...
I like my quality of life just fine, thank you.
They seem to think that if you don’t live in a big city and drink cappuccinos - your life sucks.
Leave me alone.

“”None of his other special study groups have done a damn thing!””
Usually they do but he knows in advance he will disregard everything they come up with. Sure looks good - at least to him!!
Guess he never heard of the WAR ON POVERTY and the wonderful bountiful results from that!!
I’m amazed that I still have exclamation points left after the election of 2008!!!
His answer to everything. If there is a crisis appoint a group to study it. If there is no crisis appoint a group to study it.
Wonder how many groups this makes now.
