The Chicoms started one up here in the DC area about 6 weeks ago that drowns out Glenn Beck.

Radio Moscow all over again...
I got to listen to them in the 80’s, guaranteed that anytime I heard them, I’d be treated to the biggest crock of crap ever to be broadcast over the ether. Lies, lies, propaganda, and damned lies.
Nowadays, to hear the same thing, I just turn on the news.

Amazing when the thought that “Voice of Russia” might possibly be a better source of news than CNNABCMSNBCCBSPBS is crosses my mind.

That’s fine. We’ve already begun our own kind of nonpolitical politics and don’t listen much to the global elite.

Here’s what the US is going to do:
“As part of its yearlong review, Mr. Isaacsons board is seeking ways to streamline and modernize Voice of America and its sister networks: Radio Free Europe, Radio Free Asia, Alhurra, and Radio and TV Martí. Each service has its protectors in Congress Cuban-American lawmakers fiercely defend Radio Martí, for example and they are likely to view any change as a threat.”

A good friend with a golden voice,
Dick Bertel, out of WTIC Radio, Hartford, CT was executive producer for the Voice of America; focused on music. Great guy.

Any of you old timers out there remember “Moscow Mailbag?” We used to listen to it in Italy in the early 60s. It was supposedly a radio broadcaster who would answer mail that he received from Americans who wanted to know how well socialism working. The “letters” were obviously made up and the answers were right out Dr. Goebbels playbook. Very entertaining.
