(RINO) Mitt Romney: No apologies on climate change stance

Mitt Romney won't be doing any apology tours on climate change.
The early GOP presidential front-runner has broken with his party's conservative ranks to declare global warming a real threat to the planet that merits some sort of action to curb heat-trapping emissions.
But the former Massachusetts governor is also quick to trash cap and trade, carbon taxes and other controversial policies that have been kicked around over the last decade in Washington.
In a sense, Romney's initial global warming stance sounds a lot like that of former President George W. Bush, who during his two terms reluctantly accepted climate science while fighting Democrats and environmentalists over what to do about it.
"He realizes it's an issue. It's an issue that's real, said Jeff Holmstead, a former Bush EPA air pollution official and Romney supporter who doesn't have an official role in the campaign. But I think he's not convinced that the ideas that the environmental community are putting forward is a sensible way of dealing with it."
Until now, Romney has had a relatively easy time in dealing with the politics of climate change, in no small part because conservatives have been busy pummeling his record in Massachusetts on health care.

If he believes this is true, he shouldn’t apologize. If he believes this is true, he’s a fool and nobody should vote for him.

Mitt Romney is the typical 'moderate' Republican, meaning he is amenable to big-government, Democrat ideology but is simply less intense about it. Oh, and he'll hold one or two 'conservative' positions that supposedly will seduce suckers conservatives to vote for him, then he'll abandon those positions as soon as he is safely elected into office. Ronmey's confessed acceptance of 'climate change' (an amorphous term) is emblematic of the 'moderate' Republican, better know as a RINO (Republican In Name Only). The left wants him but conservatives and TEA party members do not. Romney is the type of 'Republican' that got us into this mess with Obama (imagine if the GOP had run a serious candidate in 2008?) Mitt can stand by his 'acceptance' of 'climate change' (weasel words - the 'climate always 'changes') but he cannot be the 2012 Republican presidential nominee. We can't do this to ourselves, yet again, and I don't think we will. The election of the Marxist/Alinsky-follower Barack Hussein Obama was a wake up call that is still clanging in our ears. Conservatives echo the Israeli cry of 'never again' - and like Ben Netanyahu, we mean it.

Exactly! He exposed himself and we have an opportunity to vote or not on what we know.

If he believes in man-caused global warming he is a dead pigeon.
His poll numbers are as high as they will ever be.
Once his GW position, his authorship of proto-Obamacare, and his flip-flops on abortion and queer marriage become widely known, Romney will carry on an old primary tradition: the early frontrunner who fails miserably.

No apologies for health care, no apologies for global warming,.....what the hell is left that he can do to prove that he is to the left of Hitlery Clinton politically?
If he did happen to get the nomination it would be the end of the Republican party for good.

The demand that a candidate “apologize” for taking a position that’s unpopular (with whatever constituency) is absurd. If a candidate changes his opinion, he ought to frankly state how he was wrong in holding position X, and why he now holds position Y. “I used to support gun control, but I have studied the statistics on guns and crime, and I now believe that there is less crime when law-abiding people are armed and defend themselves.”
Simple, easy. There’s nothing wrong about sincerely changing an incorrect view to a correct one, but holding a position and fudging it in order to attract voters who disagree should be unacceptable to any person of integrity. If Mitt is honestly an enviro-twerp who will trash our economy to “save the earth,” he gets one point and a half-pint of Guinness for being up-front about it.

I personally refuse to vote on the least worse of who the MSM selects as our candidate. The MSM favorites, Romney and Huntsman.
They support these two because they have the best chance of losing to Obama and if they did happen to win, they would be the closest thing the GOP would have to offer as a close replacement for Obama.

Mitt Romney taking a stand on something? Maybe he’s a changed man after all! Dunno how much this particular stance will be helpful to him, though. He has to make it through the primaries before he starts campaigning for the general.
Still, Romney refusing to change a position has got to be some sort of cosmic first.

Romney has just turned from a being a “front-runner” into an “unelectable” candidate. Trump and Gingrich preceded him in that category.

I will not vote for Romney in the Primary because of his stance on global warming and Romney care. Period. I think there are Lots of people who feel the same way. He is losing the conservative base, I believe.
If you are firm in your principles, you won't vote for him in the general either.
My family and I will never vote for this traitor to conservative principles.

Get serious!! Of course we have global warming, and sometimes we have global cooling. The question is whether or not people have any control. That is the question.
My answer to the question is “no.” Even though mankind thinking they are God try to change weather, they have failed.
The weather is a product of nature which is constantly changing. Also the sun influences nature and thereby affects weather. Those who claim mankind causes global warming belong to the flat earth society, IMO.
