Autism linked to hundreds of spontaneous genetic mutations
Nature News ^ | 9 June 2011 | Heidi Ledford

Analysis suggests that girls are partially shielded from effects of the changes.

The most comprehensive search yet for spontaneous genetic mutations associated with autism spectrum disorders suggests that hundreds of regions in the genome may have a hand in causing such conditions.

Analyses reported in three papers published this week in Neuron1,2,3 dramatically expand the list of known genetic culprits. Two of the studies also shed light on a long-standing mystery: why are boys four times more likely to have autism than girls1,2? The researchers found that girls with autism tend to have many more mutated genes than boys with the disorder, suggesting that it generally takes a larger genomic change to cause autism in girls.

Autism is difficult to pin down. A wide range of symptoms, many involving difficulties in social interactions and communication, are united under the diagnoses of autism spectrum disorders. And although it is estimated that such conditions are more than 90% heritable, quests to find common mutations associated with them have not yet yielded any reproducible hits, says Stephen Scherer, a geneticist at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada, who was not involved in any of the studies.

"Autism is a heterogeneous disease, both clinically and genetically," he notes.

Spontaneity counts In 2007, Michael Wigler, a geneticist at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York, and his colleagues showed that spontaneous mutations — those that arise for the first time in an individual, rather than being inherited — are important in about half of all cases of autism4 (see New mutations implicated in half of autism cases). A follow-up study5 in 2010, of 996 autistic individuals, found that people with autism carry a heavy load of rare duplications or deletions in regions of the genome that contain genes.

Now Wigler and his group,...

Interesting that you mention fertility. What else is different in the past 25 years is the treatment of infertility. I’m sure someone has done the studies trying to correlate: maternal age, paternal age, fertility treatments used/not used with the incidence of autism.

Not so sure the incidence of “autism” has really increased... just a lot of quacks that diagnose it. They even tried to tell my parents my brother was on the autism spectrum. He just graduated from William and Mary, is off to grad school, and is perfectly normal socially. He was just a little shy as a child. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying autism is fake, just way overdiagnosed.

Bingo... if someone tried to tell me my son had autism, or ADHD for that matter, I’d be headed to jail because they’d probably get punched in the face

IMHO...

Any parent with any sense at all knows you don’t load kids up on sugar and carbs and expect them to be calm and focused.

Add in processed foods; they aren’t good to live on continuously; they’re widely consumed now. Though I’m a conservative, I like things clean and natural - safest bet. Heavy metals are one issue that’s big; had some interesting experiences with them. Lots of bad stuff that kids eat continuously.

If you stick to the food the way it was hundreds of years ago, you’re way better off.

Throw in the mix the way parents raise their kids and you’ve got behavior problems out the wazoo.

That is a lie...that “Autism” was lumped with mental retardation. That is like saying Mercury poisoning was classified as Mental retardation. They knew sources of brain damage in the early 20th century or could determine causes—birth defects or environmental toxins.

Autism is caused by environmental toxins. As much as they are trying to make it genetic is to save litigation only.

The only change from the 70’s to the 90’s was the huge increase in vaccinations at a much younger age....to the day of birth. Insanity when their little immature systems have no way to excrete toxins and YOU know there are toxins in EVERY vaccination.

How much toxins can a baby stand before his body shuts down? Well, they are guinea pigs since the 80’s and surprise....the spike started with their forced vaccination routine at younger ages and multiple dozes which is so unnatural it SHOULD set off warning bells to anyone who has a bit of logic.

Forced Hep B vaccinations for healthy babies should be a crime. Pediatricians who force this on healthy kids should be put in jail. You don’t inject toxins unless their is a high risk ratio and I don’t think little babies are out injecting drugs or having sex.

Well, at least most sane parents who don’t think like the obama’s and Franks and John maynard keynes.

And you think that neanderthals were not social, and could not read social cues? For crying out loud, most mammals are social, especially higher mammals like chimps and bonobos. Autism or something like it would be a distinct disadvantage for social animals.

of course it would be a disadvantage... (note the current extinction of neanderthals)

if these random mutations are the only or primary cause of autism, it does not make sense that the incidence of autism has increased so much in the last twenty-five years.

May just be more refined diagnostic criteria

It's obvious that you have a problem with vaccines to the point that you think there's a cabal behind them. Now I don't agree with many of the most recent additions of to the vaccination schedules or their timing, but most of the older vaccinations made sense.

I had measles almost five decades ago. I lost about twenty percent of my weight, and I was out of school for three weeks. The MMR vaccine makes sense. I have had chicken pox and shingles. Thank God I didn't get post herpetic neuralgia from shingles. I don't know if the herpes zoster vaccine for chicken pox makes sense. The last rationalization that I heard for it is that parents won't have to take time off from work to care for their sick children.

You went from mercury toxicity to aluminum toxicity to vaccines in general and particular. Hepatitis B infections are bad enough that all health care professionals must get the vaccine, three doses when I got it over two decades ago. Hepatitis B is quite virulent at minimal exposure. There's no treatment for it. If someone gets cirrhosis or liver cancer from it, they will need a liver transplant. The cost/benefit ratio makes sense.

You are right!

I do not trust a cabal of Sanger, Shaw, Clinton, Kissenger, Gate-thinkers to force people into mandatory shots. Granted. I had no problem with earlier (pre-80’s) vaccination schedules and knew the need for them (although there are reputable scientists who dispute this).

Who knows really what is in a vaccine? We are taking for granted that the Postmodern thinkers, who do not believe in a God and dignity and worth of every human being, tell us. And they have billions to buy off scientists and destroy dissenters—just the way government destroyed McCarthy—because they always have to destroy Truth if they want to control perceptions.

All history tells us that absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I am just wondering WHY no serious discussions on the Autism/Vaccination connections...because all my research has pointed to a direct correlation—The best explanation!!!!! That is all....and my observations have never really been sufficiently answered. I see all this allusion to “other” causes that aren’t half as damning as the mandatory injection of known toxins at brain-vulnerable ages.

All I see is the Alinsky-type attack on everyone who DARES bring up a connection. That smells of evil intent. Open discussion is what is needed in a free society and my argument is: Risk/Benefit is being completely ignored and skewed to favor forcing vaccines.

There is too much power and money tied into vaccinations and too many elites who don’t believe in God. So, yes, their motives don’t make sense....babies are not going to contract Hep B unless there is risky behavior. There is no logic forcing known toxins into a healthy baby. NONE. They do not even know the effect of aspirin and you are trusting people who have no moral principles to tell you the truth about the long term effects?

I trust common sense, especially not corrupt Big Pharma who pay millions to get Congress to prevent liability suits.

They know the effects of aspirin, including adverse effects. It irreversibly inhibits platelet aggregation in about 80% of the population as measured by the test called "bleeding time." That's why they give it to protect against myocardial infarctions, aka "heart attacks."

I do know that there is great “progress” in science, but there is no debate on the vaccine issue which is extremely troubling. The Alinsky-ite tactics of the Pharmaceutical companies and their continuation to affect laws on liability are extremely troubling. That is part of my point.

Second point: I don’t trust them. They have lied and covered up the Gulf War
Syndrome to avoid liability. They—again—applied McCarthyite tactics to demean those who dared suggest vaccinations were the cause—for five years until it was proven by the contents of the blood of all victims did they relent.

Third point: There are elites who talk about eliminating billions of people in the world today. They control the Pharmaceutical Companies and governments of the world. It would be easiest to sterilize the masses by vaccinations....they have every thing in place with the forced vaccinations. History always repeats itself and those people at the top prove over and over that they are evil and godless.

Fourth point: They ALWAYS pretend they have all the answers and VOILA—they are discovered to be wrong. This is too numerous to list—hockey stick graphs in the “science” magazine prove the lies in the science field (Lancet lied and covered it up—SHOCK!) Actually, it never shocked me at all. I understand the nature of man and power.

As for aspirin, yes, they do know a lot....but never all. They may say they do, but then some things never change. Lies continue. That is why freedom of debate is so essential. That is all I am for which is not happening with the issue today. Dialogue is killed...exactly like they do with the homosexuality is “good” issue. I know why they shut down the Truth. It is the same over and over and over....take your blinders off. Postmodern’s worldview is irrational and not built on the truth. Their “truth” is relative.

Human nature is what it is and our Founders knew it would NEVER change. I agree.

How is "eliminating billions of people," in the interest of pharmaceutical ompanies? What will they have for a market?

The idea of eugenics has been been a huge issue in the 20th century. Margaret Sanger, George Bernard Shaw....Stalin....Hitler....Mao....Pot.....Bosnia...Rwanda

Genocide is the MO of the 20th century.

The Population Bomb by Paul Ehrlich is their bible and environmentalism is their religion. Humans are nothing but “trousered apes” and elites want to have virgin land that is not contaminated and destroyed by the human ape. It is Marxist policy to sterilize and limit human reproduction. Chinese utilize Marxist ideology in population control and sterilization.

Marxist ideology is evil because they play god and determine who can live and who can die and who can reproduce. There is no human freedom. The elites—World movers and shakers (Soros) are all Marxists.

It is not really about money....it is about power...they are using money to get total control of all the people in the world. They are moving to a one world government....so they can decide life and death and determine land use.

Lord Acton....Absolute power corrupts absolutely. We know history. It is RARE for powerful people to NOT be evil....Non evil rulers have all been Christians or Jews for the most part. All communists have been extremely evil. Worldview is crucial to ethics. Ethical communist/atheist is an oxymoron.

http://gregoryfegel.sulekha.com/blog/post/2010/03/ill-gates-talks-about-vaccines-to-reduce-world-population.htm

There are extremely evil people who think they are god....nothing new here—it is the history of the world.

“Gates’ interest in inducing population reduction among black and other minority populations is not new unfortunately. As I document in my book, Seeds of Destruction, since the 1920’s the Rockefeller Foundation had funded the eugenics research in Germany through the Kaiser-Wilhelm Institutes in Berlin and Munich, including well into the Third Reich. They praised the forced sterilization of people by Hirtler Germany, and the Nazi ideas on race “purity.” It was John D. Rockefeller III, a life-long advocate of eugenics, who used his “tax free” foundation money to initiate the population reduction neo-Malthusian movement through his private Population Council in New York beginning in the 1950’s.

The idea of using vaccines to covertly reduce births in the Third World is also not new. Bill Gates’ good friend, David Rockefeller and his Rockefeller Foundation were involved as early as 1972 in a major project together with WHO and others to perfect another “new vaccine.”

The results of the WHO-Rockefeller project were put into mass application on human guinea pigs in the early 1990’s. The WHO oversaw massive vaccination campaigns against tetanus in Nicaragua, Mexico and the Philippines. Comite Pro Vida de Mexico, a Roman Catholic lay organization, became suspicious of the motives behind the WHO program and decided to test numerous vials of the vaccine and found them to contain human Chorionic Gonadotrophin, or hCG. That was a curious component for a vaccine designed to protect people against lock-jaw arising from infection with rusty nail wounds or other contact with certain bacteria found in soil. The tetanus disease was indeed, also rather rare. It was also curious because hCG was a natural hormone needed to maintain a pregnancy. However, when combined with a tetanus toxoid carrier, it stimulated formation of antibodies against hCG, rendering a woman incapable of maintaining a pregnancy, a form of concealed abortion. Similar reports of vaccines laced with hCG hormones came from the Philippines and Nicaragua.

Gates’ ‘Gene Revolution in Africa’

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, along with David Rockefeller’s Rockefeller Foundation, the creators of the GMO biotechnology, are also financing a project called The Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) headed by former UN chief, Kofi Annan. Accepting the role as AGRA head in June 2007 Annan expressed his “gratitude to the Rockefeller Foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and all others who support our African campaign.” The AGRA board is dominated by people from both the Gates’ and Rockefeller foundations. “

Many of their populations are probably illiterate. I don't know how you get informed consent in such populations. If this was a deliberate deception, then that is wrong.

A vaccine that prevents pregnancy in women.

Shock, it's from India. It's not murder or euthenasia.

There is always evil in the world. The Orwellian element will be easily implemented and people will never really know about it with our technology, such that it is now.

Postmodern philosophy is replacing the Christian paradigm....which is the basis of good and evil and right and wrong for the US and only the Christian one creates dignity and worth for all human beings.

PM has no regard for individuals....it is for the collective and what is good for the majority.....it leaves the door wide open to the elimination of billions of people.

It is inevitable with Postmodern philosophy which is embraced by the elites and most corporations. That is just my fear, but it is logical and reasoned.
