President and Mrs. Obama hosted a decidedly more subtle state dinner for German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the White House Tuesday evening.
Though Mr. Obama presented Merkel with his highest honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the dinner otherwise lacked the glitz and glamour of the Obama administration-- with one noticeable exception.
First Lady Michelle Obama wore a shimmery ivory sleeveless gown by Naeem Khan, a designer she favors and also donned at the president's first state dinner in 2009.
Naeem Khan gowns retail from $5,000-$15,000.
Khan told the Wall Street Journal the first dress he made for Mrs. Obama was "priceless."
Known for her fashion, Mrs. Obama accessorized Tuesday with gold bangles by Alexis Bittar, which range in cost from $145-$695 per bracelet.

Who paid for this gown? I bet I know. These people are just awful. How they get away with this is just unreal for me. I know others have had same pricey gowns. Yet the economy is terrible. They should be leading by example. Shameless to say the least... I guess I said more than “least”. sorry I ranted!

On the day a poll showed Barack Obama owning the failing economic recovery, a CBS News Washington Bureau reporter questioned Michelle Obama’s judgment in wearing a $7,000 gown at tonight’s state dinner for German Chancellor Angela Merkel, noting that other guests “dressed more modestly.”
Writing on Twitter, CBS News reporter Christine Delargy said:

I don't think I've spent that much on clothes in my life. I mean, on all my clothes, ever, total. And I'm 58 years old.
You can buy a lot of dresses with a trillion dollar stimulus packet.

If anything proves how utterly in the tank the media is for anything Obama, it’s the blind loyalty even in matters like this! For her figure, she has worn AWFUL, and I mean AWFUL clothes that did NOT enhance the right areas, and those belts UGH! Please, haven’t we suffered ENOUGH ALREADY?
