Question: If taxes equal government spending, then:
Your Answer: government debt is zero
Correct Answer: tax per person equals government spending per person on average

If taxes = spending, the "deficit" is zero, not necessarily the debt.

10/10 and then 33/33 on the longer test. I will be sitting here by my computer waiting for Obama to resign and put me in charge.

I just discovered the subtle difference - thanks. And, I do apologize - good help is hard to find.

I am just sooo close to perfect.

If I were a liberal, I’d be blaming someone else.

Pretty dumb test. The only way a reasonably with it person could get any wrong would be by misreading a question.

I got 33 out of 33 right. But a couple of the questions were questionable. :-)

Correct Answer: tax per person equals government spending per person on average

I got this one wrong, but also disagree with the "correct" answer because personal income tax is only a portion of govt revenue.

The Real Correct Answer: If taxes equal government spending, then: Conservatives are in charge.

I took the 33 question test and got 31/33 right (94%). I got the one about abortion wrong. I also got the one wrong about the most common fiscal policy combination followed in severe recessions.

Perhaps JimRob could consider requiring having two levels of membership. Those who pass the test with 90% or more get a Freeper Star next to their screen names as proof that they know what they’re talking about when it comes to understanding our Free Republic. Just a thought.

I got a 9/10:

Question: What was the source of the phrase “Government of the people, by the people, for the people”?
Your Answer: U.S. Constitution
Correct Answer: Gettysburg Address

Oooops, I think this is a common misconception, though.

How is the average score on this less than 50 percent, I wonder? How many of those score 10 and 20 percent? Sheesh.

Well, I answered 9 correctly. “Government of the people ...
“ was in the Gettysburg address not the Declaration of Independence.

The average score of 49% is appalling, but explains a lot about our politics. Here's my result:
