The air show I referred to was held in Lancaster, CA in 1966, give or take a year. The B-17’s were flown in from the LA area and had been used for scenes in a “12 o’ clock high” television series (NOT the movie) that was aired during the middle 60’s. It starred Robert Lansing as Brigadier General Frank Savage. I just went to Google. DVD’s of the TV series are available.

I have the old B-17 Flying Fortress game that only runs on Windows 98. Loved it. I tried to run it under Windows XP but it won’t load. Do you have any suggestions? Great pics.
See if you can scrounge up a Windows 98 or 98SE CD. (don’t worry about the key, you can find 98 keys on the Internet. Since Microsoft doesn’t support or sell it any more, they don’t care about the keys.)
After getting a full copy of 98, then download and install VMware on your pc. VMware will give you a virtual machine and you can install 98 on that machine.
Freepmailme for details if you are interested. You will have to download a VMware add on with video drivers and a SoundBlaster PCI driver for the virtual sound card.
I had the same problem with XP on a Dell tower. There was a program conflict with the OS and B-17. A whole bunch of troubleshooting, futsing with drivers, I decided to install Windows 97 (requires less than one GB!) and the required drivers to make 97 work on the Dell Hell. Then B-17 ran perfectly.
main power - on
open cowl flaps 1 - 2
turbo chargers - on
throttle set to 1000 rmp
ignition to both
meshing - whRrRrRr Ptttt ROOoomm!
Now repeat for engines 2, 3, 4,
