Obama jokes about his own incompetence (We are NOT amused)
American Thinker ^ | 06/14/2011 | Rick Moran

Posted on 06/14/2011 7:06:00 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

The president's Council on Jobs and Competitivenes held a meeting in Durham, NC on Monday and the president was in excellent spirits.

He even told a joke highlighting his own incompetence:

President Obama's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness met today in Durham, NC at Cree Inc., a company that manufactures energy-efficient LED lighting. One of the Council's recommendations to President Obama was to streamline the federal permit process for construction and infrastructure projects. It was explained to Obama that the permitting process can delay projects for "months to years ... and in many cases even cause projects to be abandoned ... I'm sure that when you implemented the Recovery Act your staff briefed you on many of these challenges." At this point, Obama smiled and interjected, "Shovel-ready was not as ... uh .. shovel-ready as we expected." The Council, led by GE's Jeffrey Immelt, erupted in laughter.

Of course they laughed. If you made the world's absolute silliest light bulb, you'd laugh at a joke from the guy who made it illegal to compete with you too.

As for the unemployed and the American taxpayer, who are suffering because of this man's gross incompetence, I don't think they find much to be amused about.

Dumb as a box of rocks...but don’t tell that to a liberal who thinks he’s a genius with a brilliant mind.

It would appear most every thing is “beyond his pay grade”.

GE and other companies lobbied to have Incandescents outlawed so they could force us into buying their “new” light bulbs.

They’re quickly getting rid of the middle class.

I bet Romney's team is already on this—to turn that “joke” into a 30 second web commercial. It needs nothing other than to play it and the people laughing. No music, no graphics. Mitt's commercial about “bump” on the road was pretty effective.

I'm not a fan of Romney...but he has a very good shot at winning the primary then the presidency. Worst case scenario....I'll take Romney. We are in a frightening financial situation...I feel pretty confident he would be up to the job. I just want that horrible fraud out of power. He's destroying our country.

But CREE didn’t. They make LEDs. LEDs are quickly displacing CFLs.

I like the idea of using the audio version of his book as sound bites for commercials for the republicans. My choice would be when he was on the evil white man theme...the money line is somehting about how he nursed a deep seated grievance against white people... Play that in a loop.

I am ashamed that Americans voted for this fraud. I still don’t get it.

“Worst case scenario....I’ll take Romney. “

I’m with you. I’m uneasy about Romney for a variety of reasons, but if it’s Romney or Obama... I’d take Romney in a second.

Non Sequitor and they are benefiting from this asinine law.

Not that I won’t be buying LED’s. I luv them in my flashlights.

They are a superior alternative to the pigtails.

The meeting took place at Cree. The writer of the piece missed the whole point ~ and commenters carved out even more space that simply ignored Cree.

I still can’t believe the American people voted in a guy who had not even finished one senate term.

It’s easy - the power of the press. The sheeple were told who to vote for and they did. Sure I’m sure some votes were stolen as well - but I’d assign the full court media press the lion’s share of the blame. Well, that and people not being able to think.

No, No.

I get point.

I just commenting on the whole “You don’t what’s best for you” BS and outlawing incandescents.

Cheat~!

Nobody is going to be enforcing this law ~ and it's not too late to make the next budget contain disenabling legislation.

Then, there's the stupid Congresscritter who sponsored it ~ time to publish his nekkid guy pictures eh!
