A key Palin defender turns attacker: Proof she's unelectable? (more 2012 election bias)

Palin cheerleader John Ziegler arms Mama Grizzly's detractors by admitting that she can't win the 2012 presidential election

One of Sarah Palin's most ardent supporters — talk-radio host and filmmaker John Ziegler — dropped a bombshell on Monday, saying Todd Palin asked him to consider working on his wife's presidential campaign, but that he rejected the offer because "there is absolutely no way that she can be elected." Ziegler, who made a pro-Palin documentary in 2009, was one the few people who publicly defended the former Republican vice presidential candidate when she resigned as Alaska's governor. But now he says at The Daily Caller that the decision will help Palin's enemies in the media portray her as a quitter. Is Ziegler's pessimism a sign that Palin can't win?

In looking at the Daily Caller article, it appears that his reasoning is that the BIASED MEDIA DEMOCRAT SHILLS would be working as hard as they did in 2008 to push for the Rat Bastard candidate and that her staff may not be working with her best interests in mind. Hardly an indictment of Ms. Palin's ABILITIES.

About the most damning thing he says is that with her in the race (and being unelectable a "foregone conclusion"), she could be taking votes away from other CONSERVATIVE candidates in the early primaries which could again leave the GOP with a mushy moderate in the presidential nominee seat.

I was a big Ziegler fan. But I think he’s wrong about this.

Palin can win - that’s why this story is news. If she couldn’t win, no one would care what this guy had to say about it...

I wonder who got to Ziegler, and what they’ve got on him.

I wonder when Todd will be talking to Tammy Bruce and Andrew Breitbart — some kick-ass people who would be extremely effective.

I like the word “ineluctable.” I also like the word “Prefident”* for Ubama!

*Pref”i*dent\, a. [Cf. L. praefidens overconfident. See Pre-, and Confident.] overconfident. [Obs.] —Baxter.

Whatever valid points Ziegler may have get lost in what's obviously bitterness that Palin isn't heeding his unsolicited advice. (And, as some note, potential jealousy that another filmmaker got the "inside track" for her pre-campaign book movie.)

“there is absolutely no way that she can be elected.”

There you go again. Misunderestimating her.

This is bound to be an unpopular opinion, but until and if and when Sarah Palin actually declares her candidacy, I’m going to be out there supporting our best candidates. And, so far it ain’t Sarah, because she’s not a candidate.

The difference between Ziegler and an honorable person would be to tell Sarah this privately and then leave saying to the press that he has other priorities and is moving on. An honorable person wouldn’t change sides and then get publicity for himself by giving interviews to all the Sarah hating media.
