A federal prosecutor has launched a secret grand jury to investigate possible CIA war crimes at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq, Time magazine reported.
Federal prosecutor John Durham, who was first appointed to probe the destruction of CIA interrogation videotapes by Attorney General Michael Mukasey in 2008, is now working on an expanded probe authorized by the Obama Justice Department that includes cases of alleged abuse of terror suspects in U.S. custody.
Time reported on Monday that one Durham-issued subpoena said the federal grand jury is conducting an investigation of possible violations of federal criminal laws involving War Crimes (18 USC/2441), Torture (18 USC 243OA) and related federal offenses.
The case centers around the death of Iraqi prisoner Manadel al-Jamadi, who was known as the Iceman because after killing him, U.S. forces wrapped him in ice in an attempt to alter his postmortem appearance. In a photograph that drew worldwide scorn, Army Spc. Charles Graner was photographed giving a thumbs-up sign while posing over al-Jamadis dead body.
Citing those close to the case, Time said the probe is believed to target CIA interrogator Mark Swanner, the last person to question al-Jamadi before his death.
Swanner has said he didnt harm al-Jamadi and declined to comment to Time. The Justice Department also declined comment.

They're gonna' push every button every way, every day until they can say, "AHA! , see? We TOLD you Bush/Cheney/the Republicans were ________ !"
I had a tougher time during Hell Week in my fraternity.
Haven’t we had enough of this second-guessing horse sh1t from the media - together with this internecine fault finding by the government?
Let the ambitious make their careers some other way than defending America’s enemies...
Low morale in CIA? No problem!
President Obama personally tracked UBL down and killed him.
We don’t need CIA, as long as teh WON is on the job .....
BTW, we need another opportunity to bash Bush’s fault for Obama’s re-election.
So a secret grand jury because terrorists were supposedly abused. Unbelievable!
I am not shocked Obama and Holder did this in secret.
If there really is a secret grand jury, how is it that the phrase ‘secret grand jury’ is used in the first line of the story?

I hope the details on what was done to a dead terrorist throws this case out because some numbnut Obama appointed idiot leaked sealed grand jury testimony.
Any person with two brain cells to rub together understands that you don’t screw with the CIA. I think O and Holder are about to have a wealth of unflattering info find it’s way to outlets across the globe.
Oh, we can hope...yes, we can.

This is going to be their “election year” issue.
Wait a sec, comrade zero and apperatchik holder will put the kibosh on this as soon as they remember that the general in charge of Abu Ghraib prison is currently about to run for the senate as a dhim in Texas, and we don’t really want to open up that particular can of worms right now.
Obama’s fundraising and huge crowds are finito. His campaign saying is... let us finish...
Finish what? aiding and abetting terrorists, firing Walpin when he exposes Obama, his wife and friends, corruption in the DOJ on fast and furious and NBP’sGate? Extreme partisanship hacking with Jarrett and Obama gang and golfing and vacationing...
I hope we’re not paying this dynamic duo as they sure as hell aren’t on out side.
