Eric Rudolph is a perfect example of how many of these situations might end once the pressure is off. A deputy stumbled across him and Rudolph gave up without a fight.

An experienced woodsman who has prepared could live very comfortably on game, at least until the snow comes. You can live on game or hide but you can’t do both. Game requires loud noises and fire. Game is also harder to find because it can hide better in the foliage. If he has good legs and lots of food, he can play hide and seek a long time.

Maybe so , But when they get to my neck of the woods its going to get bloody, I haven’t forgotten all the training ....and I am not afraid of doing what is necessary!
Looks like he’s a crazy, paranoid dude (dude as in city boy), who had stolen rifles and threatened violence against people without cause. ...and not even as bright as our foreign, Islamo-fascist enemies. Most of those with very large numbers of firearms are law-abiding wealthy folks (maybe a little eccentric), and no one bothers them.
