Opening the handwritten letter from President Obama brought a glimmer of hope to her life as he promised her that things would get better for her and her family. And despite the fact Destiny Mathis, from Hobart, Indiana, treasured the letter, more than two years later she has no choice but to sell it as she and her three children face eviction from their home. The 26-year-old was an avid campaigner for Mr Obama in 2008, getting T-shirts made and encouraging people in her neighbourhood to vote.

Well then, she reaped what she sowed......
She will vote for him again no doubt.
Can't pay the rent (probably Section 8) with food stamps, because Crack prices are skyrocketing?
How's that "Hope-n-Change" workin' out fer ya, Destiny???
The feel-good story of the day
It can be really tough when reality hits you.
And how does an unemployed, single, 26 year-old mother of 3 get a mortgage in the first place??
“Ahz ain’t rich yet but Ahz gonna be cuz dee Bama am Prezdent.”-A reputed early “Bama” supporter.
Exactly. She sees the solution for her as being some additional breaks and handouts. I didn’t see too much in the story about her goals to improve their lives through any effort she would make, herself. She thinks they need a 3 bedroom place, apparently thinks they are entitled to it. Do you suppose any of the fathers are involved or paying child support? She’ll probably have a couple more kids as soon as she can so as to increase their monthly “income”.
Mathis, who lives in Hobart, Ind., graduated top of her college class in 2005 and worked for six years as a surgical technologist. In January, things took a turn for the worse. She lost her job after complications with the birth of her third child, and she can't find work.
She lives in an apartment.
My misunderstanding - I thought she was being foreclosed.
Hey, maybe BO can put her up in the White House till she find something else
(Does/Do the babydaddy(ies) pay any support??)
Rick: What you have there?
Customer: A genuine handwritten Obama letter.
Rick: What you want to do with it? Pawn or sell?
Rick: How much?
Rick: (chuckles) I'll give you $1.50 take it leave it.
The children’s father, as usual in these poor-mom-with-kids stories, has bailed.
Hope she makes it.
Did she put Obummer's face on the back and Che's on the front?
Classic .. she got her hype and chains
